Abi's been out of diapers for a week now. She finally got the concept of actually removing her cotton panties before using the potty and has been taking the initiative to go on her own. Got the constipation problem solved a couple weeks go. Started taking her on errands in her panties this week, too. The only thing is she insists on putting them on with no help from me so they are backwards half the time. Kinda look like my overbelly maternity undies (bigger in front, not much coverage in back. lol!)

I still have some pull-ups we are going to use when I really, really don't want to risk an accident or when she's too distracted to go, like her homeschooling preschool co-op meetings. (Likes to save her poops for the pull ups but not her panties-- go figure.) Still wears sposie diapers at night but as soon as those and the pull-ups are used up we are switching to Kushies waterproof trainers. She wakes up dry more than half the time and averages 0-1 accident most days.

And the best part is, as soon as I stopped pestering her to potty train she did it all on her own!!! : Mommyhood sure is humbling.

Will do a final strip wash on the dipes this week and put them away until February.

Awwwwww!
Congrats to your little one.

My youngest is on the verge of potty training...one day he's interested and the next he's not, so I'm not pushing him.
He'll just be 2 next month, so we have plenty of time before he hits preschool.

Kids are funny about the PTing when you stop bugging them, both of my boys that are PT'd did so as soon as we said "forget it, diapers it is" LOL of course they were over three at the time (3 yrs 1 month for #1 and 3 yrs 3 months for #2)

Congrats to your baby though!

Congrats to Abi - even with the backwards panties.

No more diapering for a while - I'm so excited for you with the newborn to diaper. I think it might be time for another around here . . .

Good luck with that Shannon! :) This will be our last baby so we are savoring it. I'm going to be so sad when the dipes retire for good.

I can't believe it - Jack is only 14 months. After my miserable pregnancy and delivery I couldn't imagine wanting another one this soon, but I'm getting baby envy

As for the dipes retiring - I'm sure you will send them to a good home to be loved by another cd mama. The kids grow up, but the dipes march on!
