so one of my old co-workers came down to my house to see my ds...i had him outside on a blankie w/the new kitties and taking pics...so we are just talking and since she's in med school i asked her how many hours they did on the immune system, she said well i can't rember but not many. we talked about how me and dh disagree on alot for the baby (she was curious b/c her dp wants a baby soon!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> ) and the whole circ thing comes up and she was like why didn't you do it? (she didn't think it was a big deal) so i *in graphic detail* *drawing in the dirt w/a stick* tell her what happens! this was her face <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> "THEY DO THAT TO LITTLE BABIES?" so i showed her ds when i was changing ds and she was like he looks fine down there! why would you cut part of it off? at least you can see his...most little boys i've changed look like it's hiding! so now my med school friend will NOT be circing her future son! *i told her to watch the video on google* she said maybe "i don't wanna puke or something" so wow finally got through to someone irl and damn it feels good!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

That's great - good for you for sharing! Often that is all that it takes - someone to speak up for little boys. Once people realise what a circumcision is, that's often all it takes.<br><br>

Then tell her to tell her whole medical school class. Seriously, she is in a position to save hundreds and hundreds of babies and help turn the tide of medically sanctioned genital mutilation in this country.
