I'm not sure what's happening but I feel like for the last month or so my meds aren't working as well as they used to. Or maybe the stressors are on more. I'm definitely more irritable and today I am an absolute impatient beotch. I feel badly because I've been very impatient with my dh and dd1 today. Not good. Lately I've actually been crying a bit again. It could be because I've read some stuff recently that was very triggering.

Do I need to up my meds? We're also starting in on the winter season and I have a history of SAD. So maybe I need an increase? I don't want to though.

I think I just need a good and proper rest after all this craziness of the holiday weekend.

I need to put things in perspective and stop thinking so negatively.

I need help to figure out a career change.

I need to quiet that negative inner voice and be kinder to myself.

Thanks for listening, just needed to vent.

I see some people have read but no one has responded. Please just share your positive, supportive comments like I'll get through this! It'll get better! Etc. I know it will be but I need a reminder.

Saw my psychiatrist this week who is changing my meds from Prozac to Wellbutrin. I will be happy to have more depression relief from the Wellbutrin hopefully, but from what I read it doesn't do much for anxiety. Well, I have anxiety/panic attacks and GAD. So what will help with that? Won't some fast-acting tranquilizer thing be incompatible with nursing? Breastfeeding is one of the most positive, enjoyable things I have in my life. I DON'T want to wean. Does anybody know? TIA

Hi,

I'm sorry your meds aren't working as well anymore. I hope that the Wellbutrin will start working and making it better. I was under the assumption that Lexapro, Celexa, and Zoloft were ssri's that were better used for anxiety. I know Celexa for sure. As for short term benzos, you could talk to your doctor about trying something. I don't think they are recommended much for nursing. However, I know that there are certain things that you can do like take a benzo before bedtime and then not nurse at night. Or take it in the morning and not nurse for 4 -5 hours. I know that there are long lasting and short lasting benzos. Xanax is a shorter acting one so I think a lot of dr's recommend that one.

I hope your feeling better soon,
Amy
