My dh got a job at the Cleveland Clinc and I think he's going to take it. We don't know any real details about the subs that are around the city. We know we're looking at the east side because it's close to home. We were told that Shake5r Heights is nice. I was wondering if anyone could give us some info about good school districts, good subs or any other info.<br><br>

Hey Mama! Welcome to the neighborhood. Shaker Heights is a very nice area (old brick homes, farmers market at Shaker Sqare, well cared for) but the property taxes are high. We live right next door in Cleve Hts and love love love the area (great rec center, library, crunchy vibe) but really the taxes are just amazing. We will most likely move in a couple of years (2 bedroom house) and I'm thinking Beachwood or Orange. They are still close to University Circle (where all the museums are -- very close to the CC) but much lower taxes. PM me if you need more info.

You may also want to look into Brecksville/Broadview Hts, great place to live, very low crime, the school system is ranked excellent and the taxes are not high. And not to far from Cleveland Clinic. I have several neighbor's that work at the Clinic and University Hosp. they say it's pretty easy to get to work. Shaker is nice also just giving you another option.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I am just newly pregnant and don't know to much about the schools. I live on the far eastside Willoughby area. It is about 20 mins. from downtown. I know Willoughby is one of the best school districts in this area. And it is a nice town with homes from middle to upper class. For more school information there is a site <a href="http://www.cleveland.com" target="_blank">www.cleveland.com</a> that shows the report cards for the cleveland area school districts. If you go under the section marked Local then go to the education section. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see the Plain Dealer school report cards. They don't have this last year but several previous years. This actually might be a go site to look for all kinds of things about the area. I hope all goes well with your move.
