When I finally thought I was going to get my head above water, that the visitors were all gone and I could finally get rested and recovered from the flu I thought I'd been fighting the whole of November...

: ... turns out it wasn't the flu, but an infection and anemia and something called ITP, which stands for platelets are low and we don't know why. So the day after the visitors finally all left, I ended up being admitted to the hospital for a week. I am doing much much better now, and thankfully my son was able to stay with me and is fine...

... but now we are jet lagged! A month of visitors, a week in the hospital, a week at home (during which our washing machine broke!), and now we are eight time zones away from home to be with my family for the holidays. I am enjoying being here, and am glad that Jude is able to meet his grandparents, but we are not sleeping very well. Snore.

I enjoyed getting to know all of you ladies so much during our pregnancies, and I will try not to be so out-of-touch!

You poor thing! You've been having a rough time lately. I hope things start calming down for you soon. My cousin had ITP one summer when she was 8 or 9 - it was so hard on her to sit still the whole summer. I think they did a lot of careful swimming at an indoor pool so that she could still be active without the fear of hurting herself. Get well soon and here's hoping to a restful vacation for you!
