i'm so proud of my little boy!! he is almost 19 months old and we have been ECing since 12 months.

we are now....gulp....putting him in big boy underwear and pants while he is in the house. we have covered up that cute little nudie butt.

so far no accidents in the clothes. we had one accident today...i forget why, but he was nudie. when we go out to stores and such, he wears just his underwear and pants, and has yet to have an accident. i think being naked (for him) has made him more comfortable, going anywhere. he is now very aware of the feeling of needing to go (he runs to the bjorn and sits when he has to poop--in his nudie days), and he is able to "hold his pees", so this is a natural next step for him (and that it is getting colder).

he is still in a diaper at night, which he hates wearing, so i want to make that leap as well. some days he is dry, some days is absolutely soaked. he also hates to sit on the potty in the middle of the night, so i'm not sure how to go forward w/this one.

i'm just SO proud of my little guy!!

thanks for listening!
Fantastic!

We are making great strides too. We've been e/c ing since my dd was 6-7 months. We started pretty part-time but have gotten better at it with time.

She is nearly 14 months now and now signs when she needs to use the potty (Three times in a row last night) and is frequently waking up dry from both naps and nights.

This morning she woke up dry; climbed out of our bed and waddled (she's just learned to walk) down the hall to the bathroom making the potty sign
She then peed a HUGE pee.

I have not been "brave" enough to go without diapers - we do a lot of diapers w/o covers at home. I'm thinking I should maybe make the leap.

Amy when did you ditch the diapers?

things are continuing to go well. we have far fewer accidents, if any, than we did before.

we only have accidents when my hubby is watching Aidan, otherwise, we had 2 or 3 100% days this week when i was flying solo.

we are still using diapers at night, i think i'm going to take my time on that. i might start moving him in that direction in another month or two.

emma, that is great w/your DD!! Aidan is not as aware of the feeling as your DD seems to be. (b/c we started so late, i'm sure). i can't wait to EC a much younger child, i'm sure it will be tons easier than he has been.

when we started EC, we went completely diaper free. so he wears diapers occasionally, (other people's houses), but for the most part, he is always nude or in big boy underwear. being nude forced me to be more aware. it also helped Aidan tons.
