We tried the baby kind it was my last resort and it worked, I only would give him a tube like once a day and it kept him snotty and phlemy (sp?) free.

Beth~ I think that kristin does housecleaning....I do a little also , but am limited on times i can do it, since rowanzilla is very specific about what times she will allow me out of the house. I can usually escape on Sundays and Mondays, when daddy is home to distract her. PM me if you want to talk bout it!

Aw Aimee, that sucks! At least it wasn't a worse break.

Tiff - YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!! SO happy for you guys!

Megan's gonna be here in TWO DAYS! WOOHOO!!!

'kay. Anyway.

Our rent's getting raised next month. Only $100, but it seems like everytime we start getting into an OK place money-wise, something else comes up. The state is now after me for the tuition for a course at PCC I didn't take. (I wish I'd taken it, I have no idea when Gary and I are going to get another chance to take ASL together again ) And apparently once it goes to collections (which happened remarkably fast), there's no way to contest it. Gah.

Anyway. Again. It's May Day, and I'm not out getting my hair cut. Le sigh. Maybe next year.

I dunno whether EC helps with language, but it really is awesome. I was talking with my brother on Sunday (my niece's 1st birthday!), and he was talking about how in that first year they grow so much, 'cause she's talking and walking etc, and "they start out just lumps, only breastfeeding." But that's not how it feels at all. Yea he's my little potato baby, but we communicate, he tells us how he feels, what he needs (sometimes, anyway ), we help him get that, including opportunities to eliminate, and he's really obviously learning patience and trust that if he tells us, we try to do it. He's so much more dynamic than just a lump. I feel like one of the best things about attachment parenting - breastfeeding on cue, cosleeping, babywearing, in-arms parenting, elimination communication, etc - is just getting to know your baby as a real person right from the beginning, getting to interact with them, not just do things to them, y'know? Anyway.

Plus I have the most awesomest baby in the world. That helps.

So when's the next weekend MDC thing? I wanna get together social-like, but I'm not up to doing it by myself, so that means Gary so that means weekend. Anything?

ITA about the babies being so much more than lumps.

I have had so many people comment "oh your baby is so good" while we've been out and she's happily watching, singing, whatever, in the sling. ??? First of all, that is the weirdest thing to say, like any baby is not good...but I think so much of their calm is because of AP. I don't understand how anyone can think sitting at knee level being totally excluded from everyday life (in a stroller) is fair or fun for babies.

Hey guys,

drive by posting over here while dad plays with oats.

Aimee, hows the ankle today?

I hate the saying you have a good baby, cause huh? People out are so werid:

Ive been feeling like not that great of a mom latly, I know that we as moms hold ourselves on high perches and ive always tried to knock that [email protected] off, Im doing the best I can, but oats is watching more tv and we are getting out less and less because as the days go by Im getting bigger and bigger and sore and tired. He needs to get out once a day to run around and so I took him to the park this weekend but its just not enough. I know this too shall pass and the newbie will be here and we will get our rhythm set again but for today Im feeling off like I could be better and :

Kate how was the end for you with miss ruby? And anyone else for that matter. I keep trying to tell myself its okay and it will be okay, and others tell me that he wont remember it but I remember it. hump!

sigh, it will be okay! Its may, omg its may! My ultrasound tech this weekend told me that I would have the baby on may 24th, ha ha I just laughed they told me with otis that I would have him september 17th and being a first time mom I freaked, needless to say I went another month and half with da boy and I dont expect to pop that soon with this one. Who knows. The birth tub is order, getting the birth kit on friday, maternity pics on 19th and Im gonna splurge and get my belly henna'd after that. Im excited! Its the last pregnancy for me so I dont want to miss a thing!

Blah blah blah from me guys

subbing... :

off to read what i missed on the last of the april thread... something about aimee's ankle, i gathered.

oh, and angie, i remember being extra tired towards the end of this last pregnancy, but marek was older than oats is and could do a lot more stuff and follow a lot more instruction happily. the napping thing was the hardest for him and for me, because he didn't want to fall asleep in the house but only in the car and then he wouldn't let me transfer him to the house and stay asleep whereas he would just a month or so before. it drove me crazy.

ok, babes need to sleep first, so catching up will happen later.

My ankle is doing better, still really swollen but I can hobble on it with much less pain than yesterday, DH got crutches for someone who is 5'10"-6'4", ummm yah I'm 5'7", the dang things are ripping my arm pits apart. So I haven't been able to get up much because of them. But I made it to Paul's Kinder round-up and his tball game, and feel ok. Friday I am going to be driving again cause we've gotta head to Gaston with Paul's preschool for a field trip, I'll be better by then. Thanks for asking Angie, oh and still nothing ya know....

Hey guys I've been completely out of the loop. I was so busy with school and baby-having, I could barely think of anything else.

I feel terrible, since I met up with you guys once, then not once since! I suck at this play-date thing.

Now I have two babies two wrangle and get ready to go places. It is quite the challenge!

Huh what? Glad its feeling better Aimee!

Angie, I don't remember the end being all that bad for me, maybe only the last couple weeks. But I had been working and quit my job and had two months staying home with just me and Ruby and I was so grateful for that time with her. And it was less stress so the last couple months were kind of a relief. Me and Ruby had a good nap schedule down at that time so I was able to rest. I also tried to get her out of the house as much as I could.

But its a good idea to get Oats used to hanging around the house a lot cause that is what you'll do the first few weeks, or longer. Ruby likes to run around stuff when she needs to let off steam. Like our house has a circle through the living rm/dining rm. But sometimes she'll just do a small circle around the living rm chair or something. That and dancing.

I remember using those last couple months to sort of come to terms with lower standards of myself as a mom. I wouldn't even call it lower standards, just different ones. Ruby had no TV at all from 6 months to 18 months. We did a bit when she was a pretty fussy baby. But in daycare all day, she had only wooden toys and outside play etc. But we started TV just about the day I quit my job. And you know what? That is okay, I still feel she is better off with me as her daytime care provider so I will do what I gotta do to care for two at once. I had similar things change regarding her diet around that time too cause I was used to her eating really healthy stuff and I suddenly had to sweeten the deal for her so to speak. But overall, she still eats healthy food, ya know?

Do you have some new baby brother books for Oats? I have some you could have. I think they helped Ruby a lot.

OK novel over.

ETA: OMG Congrats Nicole! Can't wait to hear a full story...

I have my birth story linked up on my signature through his name if you're curious

It went completely perfect and was wonderful! I am so happy I UCd. I would do it a million times over before going to a hospital. Such a great thing to experience, and share with my husband. He is so proud of himself, having caught Oliver. He just brags and brags, and talks about UC all the time to everyone he knows.
