Dh and I are not vaccinating our daughter. I end up in discussions about vaccinations and can field most general questions and concerns (or provide more in depth sources) and I don't really mind- I look at it as a chance to get some information out there.

A few times now, I've been stopped by the "Well what about the chemo patient/pregnant woman/random immunocompromised stranger?" The argument is that my unvaxed kid is just hanging out waiting to infect these people with "oh so horrible" illnesses.

How do you respond?

"do you know which vaccines don't prevent transmission? no? oh, you thought that all vaccines stopped the diseases from being transmitted? it really doesn't work that way."

most people's knowledge of vaccines, their efficacy and whether they prevent transmission or not is quite paltry, so i would love to get in a few facts edgewise.
