Avatar seems really big. Scooby Doo is still popular, and Spiderman/Batman/Superman are always very big.

I was with a group of 5-9 year olds and they all wanted to play either Power Rangers or Ninja Turtles.

My 6 year old son plays "Super Heroes" with his friends. No toys...just them, role playing. Ds doesn't actually know the super heroes from tv/boooks/movies, but his friends include him just the same.
2 1/2 year old dd will play anything but LOVES her imaginary friends best of all.

It is! my uncles were all into building their own, and she wants to get into that part of it too. I'm already looking for THE r/c toy for Christmas. Do you have any recs? I've been looking at the amphibious ones and they look kind of cool, but I think she'll outgrow them quickly.

superheroes like spiderman, superman, my son loves to rescue people. And rescue heroes, we bought tons over the summer at yard sales. I like them, they teach them about the real heroes in the world like firefighters, police, etc.

Spygear is also big around here. My kids play on walkie talkies and have spy alarms and stuff to pretend they are spying on stuff.

My girls are into fluffy, glittery junk and are doing tons of crafts like beadwork, knitting, crocheting, learning to sew, all very cool right now!
