I need some good ideas for some yummy, non-repulsive, yet fairly healthy menu items!

My MW suggested today that I needed to be writing down EVERYthing I'm taking in, given the possibility of either twins or maybe GD. And I panicked, realizing I've been on a not-so-great kick lately! : (You know, that always looks like a strawberry to me... I was thinking, "now, I'd eat THAT!" )

I probably am not eating enough 'cause it's been hard to force myself to eat. Sigh. So what are you eating, especially that nice, easy stuff?

I have some yogurt every day, it is always easy to eat. Also, cottage cheese always seems to go down well. And I have been craving milk. Just huge glasses of cold, nonfat milk sound SO good - though I am really not sure how good that is for me. I do drink organic, though.

Let's see, what else? Um, peanut butter toast always tastes yummy to me, esp. with some organic honey mixed in! Those and protein shakes (with fruit mixed in) are my stand-bys for protein.

For fruit, I have been loving the meyer lemons I get at Trader Joe's, and they had the yummiest tangerines there last week. Of course, those are gone now! Dh made me some cream cheese stuffed celery yesterday, and that was tasty, and I have a big salad every night with carrots and tomatoes on it that always seems to go down well.

Good luck. I know I am sooo tired of eating already - and I still have what - 20+ weeks to go? Sigh.

I'm eating lots of eggs, nuts, fruit, spinach, rice, curries, pastas, crackers, and meat. Lots and lots of meat.

Today I had a big bowl of oatmeal w/ fruit for breakfast, fruit for a snack, a hamburger w/ spinach and (organic ) chips for lunch. Yogurt w/ fruit for a snack, chicken curry (made with onions, chicken, potatoes, yogurt, and coconut milk), rice and nan for dinner and soy dream for a snack. I think I'm doing pretty well.

Oh boy! You guys are doing so much better than me! I think I'll try more yogurt. I have a big thing of organic yogurt but have been feeding it to the kids instead of me! I've been loving peanut butter, too - sandwiches, with apples, all of that! Yum! And fruit... mmm... we got some of the best organic strawberries!

At least I'm seeing a direction in which to head! Keep the ideas coming!

I am having the same issue as you (though no twins ) I am just finding it hard to eat more, but I don't think its a problem. I am no longer wanting junk food (ok, well maybe taco bell, but thats it!). I have been eating pb and applesauce alot. Either on waffles or pancakes. Can't handle eggs still so I am staying far away from those. Salads have been a staple for me as well. I had an artichoke the other night that was fantastic and of course watermelon! I am getting a craving for some good ol' corn meal mush...for those of you who didn't grow up on that, make corn meal mush, add some butter and cottage cheese and enjoy. Its fantastic! (anxiously waiting to see how many of you will be repulsed by this!)

Corn meal mush, yum! When I was little I had it with brown sugar, but now I like it with blackstrap molasses.

One meal that I really like that I've made the past couple of days is portobello mushroom sandwiches. Toast a ciabatta loaf (white bread! eek!) in the oven while you sautee portobello mushrooms, red bell pepper, and red onion. Slice open the bread, add mushrooms, peppers, and onions, add warm pasta sauce and sundried tomatoes. Serve with a salad. Yummmmmmy!

It is like grits but with cornmeal. I grew up eating it and my husband grew up eating grits. The funny thing is, neither of like the other. So when I make it, I make both.

This morning I ate steak, straight from the fridge to the mouth. I love to eat filet like that, when it's leftover from a great restaurant meal.

Easy stuff? Ate a lot of chili, but it's too warm for that now. Spaghetti is my favorite, especially with foo-foo sauces from Whole Foods.

Pierogies. Those are easy.

Eggs and milk. Steel cut oats for oatmeal, supposed to be the best for fiber & whole grains etc. Tasty mixed with applesauce or honey.

This cappuccino, but it doesn't count.

Dried fruit for snacking at work, and some turkey jerkey, and nuts.

When I'm feeling listless in the evenings, DH makes me double milk (that is milk with powdered milk dissolved in it, and a pack of emergen-c sometimes for taste). THat's a quick boost that doesn't take effort to eat.

At this point, we know I'm measuring big, but aren't quite sure why! I have an u/s tomorrow! No twins in the family or anything so the chances are slim, but always possible, as my MW says!

Either way, I'm famished! I actually took a box of mini stone ground wheat crackers to bed last night and snacked through the night - first time this pregnancy I've had to do that. Of course then my 2.5yo came to my bed and helped himself to a morning snack, too!

I'm having a hard time with eggs (still), but it seems like fruit and cheese type stuff is sounding good to most of us. So nice of it to be fruit season now!

You guys seem to be eating really well. I think I am doing O.K. on the fruit side with orange juice, apples and bananas, but am having troubles eating veggies. Other than that, I eat cereal with milk, yoghurt almost every day, but don't like the sweetness (guess I could buy natural yoghurt). I eat some chicken meat, bagles and have been eating some fast food (due to moving last week). Hate eggs and beef right now and generally have little appetite. I only eat because if I don't, I'll get sick/nauseous.

Luckily I have an aversion to sweets right now - I try to eat them (old habit), but they just don't taste good right now.

I just made Arabic-style crockpot lentils and rice (Mujadrah.) I topped it with lots of plain yogurt. This is comfort food for my husband, and since I figured out how to do it in the crockpot, it's much easier- it just turns itself of and can keep warm for an hour or so. Love that crockpot!

I also made a Greek-style pasta skillet with green beans, ground beef, tomatoes and feta. One pot meals are awesome, and this one is fast.

Grilling panini is our lunch routine. My son likes grilled cheese and zucchini panino, and I just load mine up with grilled veggies- it's easy and fast. I usually put fruit salad out on the side. Since I've been sick, it's soup all the way around here, too- soup with everything!

I forgot smoothies! Smoothies are awesome, and my toddler loves them, too. My favorite is banana, whole milk, honey and some ice blended together. It's simple, but insanely, insanely good. I feel a craving coming on!
