I don't know if anyone is having strong cravings, I am not really, I seem to be more of an aversions person. HOWEVER, I am starting to get hungry. Really good and hungry, finally. So I want to know, what are you eating? I need inspiration.

Tonight we had french toast with fried apples on top. Tomorrow I'm going to make a nice creamy and cheesy squash and greens casserole. Right now I think I am going to go have a PB&J. I'm pretty sure at my appt Thurs I will finally have gained some weight. :)

I'd like to find the "OFF" button for my appetite. Bleh. I'm starving most of the time and I do NOT need to gain a ton of weight. I've already gained more than I'd like. I'm still exercising though so hopefully that will help. I'm looking forward to all the junky temptations being gone after the new year but I don't want the holidays to go by too fast!

Right now I'm really craving fruit, protein and bananas. I'm trying not to eat too many bananas since they don't help with digestive stuff but they taste so good right now!

We're doing a lot of soups since it's super cold here!

I just found a big ole "off" button Stacey. Try sinking your teeth into the second-to-last tender bite of french toast with fried apples and real maple syrup only to get a flavor bomb of GARLIC! That was me this morning, retching and cursing my husband for using my good cast iron pan for experimental egg seasonings. My breakfast was completely ruined, thank goodness I didn't bring it back up though I seriously though I was going to.

At least I'm not hungry any more! And I got a few "thank you for eating" kicks from Andy. He will kick and kick and kick when I am hungry, then about 10-20 minutes after I eat I get one or two thank you kicks and he settles in for a long nap. It's so cute.

I feel like I want to eat all the time, too! Not all of it is good - I've had a weird craving for Ramen noodles, and I just found out my sister had it too when she was pregnant with her first. I saw them on a top 10 worst things to eat while pregnant list though.

Vegetable sushi was really good the other day. I'm also eating a lot of applesauce - probably been a year before since I ate any. So weird!

Oh boy, I made turkey chimichangas the other night with the last of our thanksgiving turkey. They were delicious and I had enough to put one dish in the freezer. I need a good recipe for spanish rice. Mine never turns out. :( I cannot eat anything pickled, most red meats, sausage, bacon, and most Mexican food I normally cook. Also pasta with red sauce, any fish, most things Chinese, most things fried. And these aren't small aversions either, just typing some of that stuff out makes me a little queasy.

Right now I want squash and greens. And bean soup with cornbread.

Oh, I went through a brief ramen phase when I had morning sickness. I was so ill and all I wanted was broth, but no one around here does real broth and I didn't have any on hand and so the only thing I could stand to make was ramen. Now I am back to detesting them, but I have a whole bunch sitting in my pantry.

Sushi now, I would love to have sushi. It's so expensive though! I can't justify it right now.

eating a lot of homemade soups here too. Chicken Tortilla, Mulligatawny, Potato, Vegetable with noodles, Chicken and Rice, and Turkey Chili, are some of our favorites. If I shred the chicken, I don't have such a hard time eating it. Other things that have been on menu lately: Stir fry, pot pie, alfredo sauce over bowtie pasta, chicken parm., toasted subs. Breakfast is usually cereal and fruit, or oatmeal, or maybe eggs. Lunch is usually left overs.

The ramen is probably because of the MSG. It's a neurotoxin. I try and avoid it like the plague! Oh and I think so many people love ramen because MSG is addictive..you can get hooked!

I've been eating a lot of eggs, scrambled, fried, with toast, omelets, etc, yogurt and fruit for breakfast

leftovers for lunch

Dinner has been pretty much what I always cook, roast chicken, vegetables, some kind of potato, roasts, bbq smoke pork roast, brisket, salmon, tuna, loaded baked potatoes, salads, greens, all kinds of veggies. I don't eat much grain, and tomato based dishes are still making me puke, so I avoid spaghetti, pizza, tacos, sloppy joes, etc. Sucks! I bought an 8 pack of canned organic tomatoes from costco a few months ago and only one can has been used! so unlike me!

I also make a nice big mocha made with raw milk, espresso, organic cocoa powder and peppermint extract every morning. It's almost a meal in and of itself. makes me feel all warm inside :)

I am really unmotivated when it comes to food this pregnancy. I was ultra-militant with my diet while pregnant with DD; I kept a food journal every.single.day, ate things I didn't really want to eat just because they were the healthier (more responsible) choices, and didn't allow myself many indulgences. That being said, I felt amazing the whole time, never had a single complication, and easily lost all of the weight(~33 lbs.) soon after she was born.

This time around, not so much...

I have been eating too many starchy, bread-type items and not enough veggies. We get a ton of beautiful organic heirloom veggies every week in our CSA share, and I have been chopping everything up and 'hiding' it in our dinners each night because I can't stomach the idea of eating a big plate of veggies. I could easily survive off of meat, bread and potatoes if I allowed myself. Every week, I tell myself 'this is the week I will get it together'! Now that we are in the holiday season, I'm thinking that plan might be put on hold ;)

I've mainly been having a problem with not being very hungry. If I'm not hungry, I cannot eat -- when I am pg, it's not a problem any other time! I am usually hungry in the mornings, and eat again in the afternoon, but many days that is kind of it. It took me forever to figure out, but that is probably why I am still not up anything weight wise. Not a huge issue as I was about 30 pounds over my prepg weight from baby #3 this time, but my mw would like to see some kind of gain soon (I am 22 weeks)

I'm trying to cut back my work hours a bit, that might help since I can eat whenever I want versus when it is my 'turn' for break. The upside of work is that I can always find something to eat there, bagel and cream cheese, sandwich, a lot of soup lately since it has turned cold. At home I have the time, but I never seem to want anything we have on hand!
