Right now I'm cooking up some pasta and clam sauce for breakfast.
I'm not sure to blame this on pregnancy or if it's just me.
I had like 3 quarts of strawberries last night.
I've been attacking nuts and cheeses lately (and lunch meats too )
Candy sounds gross to me--thank godess, cause two weeks ago I couldn't stop with the sugary foods. I don't want to fail my GD test (which I think I've decided to do, maybe). Are strawberries high in sugar? Like, high enough to worry about? I have a half a flat left and I can't wait to eat more.

I can't figure out what to make for dinner though.I've been having cereal for dinner lately. I don't like cooking right now. Maybe some of your comments will spur me into something.

Wow, this is rambley.
Anyway, what have you been eating lately?

lunch is usually some sort of leftovers from the night before, today it will be baked ziti w/ garlic bread.

usually a piece of fruit and (if my kids can't catch me...) a reese's peanut butter cup for a snack.

oh, and let's not forget my oh-so-lovely twice daily dose of liquid iron w/ a glass of oj. yuck!

we're having asian chicken salad for supper. mmm...toasted almonds, mandarin oranges, asian marinated chicken!

I had been doing so well eating healthy and then...I saw cocoa krispies on sale and I HAD to have them! I just could not resist that chocolatey goodness .

And it was DH's b-day on Monday night and we had cake...which I have been eating for breakfast ever since

Lunch is usually leftovers or a sandwich: PB & J or cheese and hummus on wheat, with some kind of fruit and a glass of some kind of milk.

english muffins with butter or hummus
pickle omelets
pomegranate juice
olives

DH made tortillas last night for dinner with sweet potatoes andd onions. Mmm. Tonight will probably be grilled chedder cheese on wheat and some hearty tomato soup (it is COLD here and just that kind of day).

I haven't decided about the GT test yet, but have been leaning towards not getting it. I'm just worried that my recent bad eating habits (and laziness - I decided to skip yoga AGAIN today in favor of staying in bed) are having a negative impact on the babe somehow. Does the mother guilt ever stop???

lately... a lot of takeout leftovers!!
Ahem. Not that *I* like to eat out a lot, ohhh no, not me, never :

Heh, actually, I was about to go eat breakfast--cereal and an orange for a change The kids are both pasta addicts, so it's not THAT unusual to eat noodles for breakfast around here either

I guess I am a snacker. Sometimes after I have to get up at 3am for a bathroom trip, I cannot fall back asleep without downing a yogurt or a cheese sandwich, heh. I pay enough attention to consciously eat several high-protein foods a day, even if it's a microwaved veggie burger, heh. I like to make tofu/veggie stir fries a lot, and baked potatos too I always have fresh apples and oranges around and will grab one of those whenever. Cashews too....addictive....

I don't eat candy, hardly ever, but I do drink soda. Pepsi is my biggest nutritional downfall pregnant or otherwise. I gave up soda last pregnancy, and I was acting angry at the world because of it...! So yeah. Pepsi. Not by the gallon, but at least one can is a daily thing for me.

I have pretty much resigned to eating a series of snacks... if I eat a meal, I end up suffering, there just feels like there is no space in my stomach... so I am eating a lot of:
fruit and melon
eggs
soup
cereal
nuts
avocado
valentine's chocolates
A good example of how I've been eating is yesterday, while others were eating bison burgurs salad and pickles... I just ate a plain burgur on the plate and let the cat finish the last few bites. I make up of the small quantitites by eating every 2-3 hours.

I have been stuffing myself with fruit and grains to try to keep me off the cookies and ice cream. I have stocked up on brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat couscous and a pile of fruit.

I have also been into the hummus a lot lately. And yogurt. Greek yogurt. So creamy and thick and good! Almost as good as having ice cream.

But then I eat the cookies and ice cream anyway! Hopefully, I'm eating less than I would have, though if I didn't have so much nutritious stuff on hand (I reach for that first, but I just stay hungry ALL THE TIME)

At the very least, I'm keeping myself regular.

tropical juices (mango, passionfruit, guava)
cookies (I just baked chocolate chip!)

I snack all day, but it is typically the same snacks.
Orange and/or grapefruit
yogurt
banana
cottage cheese
nuts

I have NO desire to cook, but I want to eat constantly, but I'm not really hungry and nothing really sounds good. So dinner is a get-your-own affair at our house these days, except for the children, one wouldn't bother to eat if we didn't fed her and the other would eat pepperoni sticks all day. bleh.

What I really want is pasta but am having trouble with my blood sugar again (I passed up the GT test, but monitor my sugar). Not enough for my midwife to be the least bit concerned, but enough that it makes me feel crappy. So I can have small servings, but they just aren't as satisfying.

And Laney.... pickle omletes??!!!??? ew!

Today I had organic oatmeal with raisins for breakfast. Snack was an apple. Then a veggie burger patty with steamed vegetables and applesauce for lunch. Snacked on Kashi granola bar, banana and pregnancy tea. Dinner was a frozen pizza :. I was just too darn tired to cook anything. Then I followed it with a scoop of jamoca almond fudge ice cream.

Red meat. And then red meat. And then, um, well, more red meat. And this from someone who was completely vegetarian for a decade plus. The last time bananas entered this house, I was eating them three at a time morning and night. I figure I might have been just a little deficient in my iron and potassium needs lately, being big on the "a mind craves what it knows contains what the body needs" concept. When I first got pregnant, before I knew I was pregnant, I was driving my husband crazy insisting I had to have orange juice (not something so easy to find here in that time of year).

Now if only I could figure out something to reasonably say I really do nutritionally need those chocolate chip cookies ...

You MUST be just simply short on calories and your baby needs the energy to grow.

Whoever suggested spinach with cheese. Well, I am not usually a big fan of cooked veggies, and I RARELY buy fresh spinach, but I picked up a bag of it last week to eat in salads. We haven't been eating it, DH doesn't LIKE it in his salads.... so I threw some in a pot last night, cranked up the heat, shredded some cheese on top and OH BOY YUUUMMMMM!!! And I have to suggest, smoked Gouda mixed with Cheddar... that made it all that much better. Thanks whoever that was!

Then for breakfast I had the same thing but mixed in two eggs and fried it up that way, that was tasty too. Lunch is cottage cheese, a grapefruit and a cookie :
