Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin, you don't have to read some of the super crunchy birth stories but I found the second half to be incredibly helpful. It's where I learned all about sphincter law, a term I thought ridiculous the first time I heard it.

Oh I just wanted to add that Ina May's book was the catalyst for the complete 180 in how I view pregnancy and birth. It helped to start to completely change my outlook forever.

I just received my copy in the mail yesterday....I was a little shocked by the graphic pictures of babies crowning! it made me want to return the book! lol.... maybe a need to develop a thicker stomach or something

I also purchased Nurture Shock....

I read a lot prior to TTC (I am a big planner what can I say):

I thought it has some helpful insights and like all parenting and baby advice I will take it with a grain of salt.
