I'm asking this here simply because it seems like the Montessori catalogs offer a lot of musical instruments. Are there any specific companies that you've had a great experience with? I'm looking for some percussion instruments. Small Hands has the slide whistle I want (but it's out of stock). But I'm also looking for some other whistles and "ago-go bells" (sp?). I think Michael Olaf has some of those, but I have to double-check.

What are your favorite, reliable vendors for simple musical instruments? Thanks!

Have you looked at www.elderly.com? My mom is a bluegrass musician and teaches toddler and kid music -- that's where she gets all her bangers and shakers for the kids.

I love "Music for Little People" http://www.musicforlittlepeople.com/...l_Instruments/

Here is another website with some nice looking instruments, agogo bells among them: http://www.silverbushmusic.com/africain.html

I have used www.westmusic.com many times over the years...also, you can now buy instruments from www.musictogether.com

We take Music Together classes, and their instruments are great. However, at home we've been happy with the less expensive Melissa & Doug sets we bought from a local toy store.
