It's making me crazy!

'm recovering from a sinus infection and I'm taking a Zpack along with Afrin and a decongestant. But my right ear is completely clogged - I can't hear a thing and it's driving me nuts! I really don't want to go to the ENT because last time I made that mistake, I ended up with a tube in my (left) ear and I've had more earaches in that ear that I've had in my adult life since.

Anyone got any ideas for me?

Anyone? I'm desperate! My doctor's advice was to stop nursing so I could take Clarinex 12 hour tablets.

Acupuncture. One session usually helps my ears, which clog up when I get sick.

Chiropractic might help too. Also, lymphatic drain massage.

A cheap and useful trick is to put hydrogen peroxide in the ear for a few minutes, then drain it out. It sometimes helps.

what about breastmilk i have heard that would help. dropper it right in the ear

zmom, I replied to your other post...just FYI, Claritin/Clarinex is considered compatible with breastfeeding, although you may want to keep an eye on your supply in case it drops (which is theoretically possible but hasn't been documented). Have you ever tried ear candles. They have worked for me before when I have had sinus problems. I don't know if they really suck everything bad out, but maybe it is the heat going through your ear tubes, I don't know.

Get your ear candles! I love them!! And garlic oil drops in the ear are good too. And get a sinus massage.

Thanks everyone. I'm remembering these for the next time this happens too. I got my right ear unclogged and now my left ear (the one with the tube in it!) is a little clogged up but not nearly as much as the right one was yesterday! If it's not clear by tomorrow, I'm going to make a chiro or an acupuncture appointment.
