Okay, right now I'm so freaking angry it's not even funny.

I have complained about roaming cats before. Well, yesterday, DH and I got DD a sandbox; I left the back door open this morning, so she could play outside in the sandbox while I folded laundry inside. I carried a stack of laundry up to our third floor, and came back down, to find this #$#[email protected]$*&($&*#$&U#$U($&*#$ black cat laying down on my couch!!!!!!!

Now, I guess I can understand that it's German culture that cats should not be kept indoors, but how the *bleep* can I keep someone else's cat out of MY house?????

FWIW, I'm VERY allergic to cats; I now how to vacuum and scrub my sofa because my eyes and throat are already starting to itch.

But, you know what, I shouldn't HAVE to put the disclaimer about my allergy!! It should be common sense that I do not want someone's strange pet in MY house!!!!

I don't think you know whose cat it is, right? You could put in these doors like the ones against flies but you should still cover the sandbox, she's prone to use it! (the cat I mean). At my parents' place we have our cat and she sneaks in, but we don't see other people's cats.
However, here in leipzig the neighbours take their dogs out to run around and they do not listen to them AT ALL! I am scared of dogs and they run around me legs barking.. I could freak out every day. Why am I telling this? Dogs are a German's best friends
and they only tell you "der will nur spielen". Therefore, they will not do anything to keep their cats close to home (which would be impossible unless you lock them in). Other than protecting your doors (and open windows) I don't really know what you could do... Sorry! I'm really not into animals...

Trinity- glad to see that you're finally home.

JustJamie- if you know who the cat belongs to, mention to them that you don't want the cat in your yard. I have 2 cats that go outside too, and once someone complained to me that the cat was always in their backyard, and then I spent a couple weeks chasing her out of their yard and now she doesn't go there anymore. She mostly just sits in front of our house.

Well, he's not so little, but yes, B. did give in to the male puppy. My powers of persuasion are legendary...

She ADORES him.

To the point where it's almost a problem...lol...she won't let him take a nap, she tries to eat his food when he eats, drink out of his water bowl when he drinks, steal his bones, etc...

That's hilarious! Every child has to eat dog food at least once...I think it is a requirement!! Glad you guys are having fun, and I'm sure she'll calm down after a little bit!
