My girls and I have been sick with a "cold" now for almost 2 weeks. It started with my older daughter, and then my younger, and me. My older just seems to have a lingering cough, not too bad. My youngers nose is still runny, and her cough is from tickling in her throat. Last Tue, we saw DR. who said she had an ear infection and need amox. I did not give it, and we went to another Dr. Friday and she said her ear still had fluid, but was not red. We had been useing herbal ear drops in that ear. They have been taking echinachia, and acidophilous, and vitamin C. I treat with homeopathics when I can figure out what to use. Sorry this is so long, but what else can I do to help them, and keep their immune system up. By the way, My older daughter has not had vaccinations since she was 1, and she is almost 6...and my younger is vax free so far at 3.

It sounds like you're giving them lots of immune boosters. Sometimes things can take longer to heal.....even when we're doing lots of things to help with immunity.
I know sometimes I get the kids adjusted by the chiro when they are sick & it seems to speed things up a bit too.
Hang in there.

We all just went thru that cold thing too - we took yin chiao (from natural food store) and it really helped. They have a formula for children as well as adults.
