I have another head cold and the last one 3 weeks ago ended up as a sinus infection. The extra mucous is making the MS worse and I was wondering if I can take emergen C. I was wondeering if anyone else knows of anything else I can add to my diet to support my immune system. TIA

My friend swears by taking elderberry syrup. It is pretty easy to make and you can buy dried elderberries online. I should get to making a batch this week

Im prone to sinus issues as well (though, *touches wood*, I havent had any too bad problems yet).

I have hyland Sinus tablets that Ive used once so far, and my midwife deemed those safe after looking at the ingredients.

Other than that, one of the other midwives suggested I invested in a Neti Pot...which I will try if my sinuses get bad.

take a peek at http://www.nativeremedies.com, they have a whole line of products deemed safe during pregnancy...now i personally haven't used any while pregnant but i have while not and they work wonders when we're sick here...

You can also buy elderberry syrup in several forms at a natural foods store, I know Whole Foods carries several. But don't know for certain if it's considered ok during pg. Neti pot worked wonders for me during my last pregnancy with a nasty sinus thing. Homeopathy should be fine to take, but it's very specific so hard to say which remedy. I swear by echinacea (tea or pill), and it appears to be safe for pregnancy as long as within recommended doseage....I'd still check with your midwife maybe though?

I hear great things about Vitamin D3. Lots of research posted on www.homefirst.com. I am starting to take it, 2 pills (2,000 IU) per day.

Every morning I have a serious sneezing, drippy nose attack. Allergies or sinus, I don't know but it sucks. I have the neti pot too and it works, I am just so stubborn about using it. I have a deviated septum so it takes some effort on my part.
