My sister gave me an open canvas bag from Pottery Barn Kids....I really like it. It looks more like a cute tote than anything, and since I don't need to carry bottles around, obviously, just dry CD and wipes, and a change of clothes, I also use it as my purse. It's purple and blue and white...vurry pretty.

I have the Lands End backpack too, but it's a little bit big for me (I have a really small frame), so I got this Eddie Bauer one for running around (it's from Target).

I also use my little backpack purse.

The Lands End works great for big outings and when DH can carry it. The Eddie Bauer is what I stick in the stroller and the purse is what I use when we're just running into the grocery or something (one small pack of wipes, a lap pad and one Fuzzi Bunz, plus my wallet, etc. -- somehow it all fits).

HTH!

ETA: I really like the Eddie Bauer one -- it's small but you can pack a LOT of stuff down into it. Plus it's really easy to get in to. Check it out at your local Target.

i picked mine up at old navy this spring, a nice shoulder bag with a roomy pouch and several pockets. it fits a good number of cloth diapers (we used fitteds mainly, though i often tote aios for out and about), cloth wipes, a handful of toys and even has pouches on the sides that are the perfect size for k's sippy cups.

i have a large and small backpack, and a large shoulderbag. None are 'supposed' to be diaper bags. They all work great depending on which babycarrier I'm using and where I'm going.

I have a really nice one from Pottery Barn kids (sorry, I am useless at links). It is great - has a comfortable shoulder strap, lots of compartments, converts to a back pack, has little casters on the bottom so it doesn't sit directly on the ground to stay cleaner, and it was a decent price.

I just use a regular old backpack (the same one I used in college!) and it works gread. My sister got me the Eddie Bauer Diaper backpack, but I found it wasn't quite big enough, especially for carrying cloth diapers

I have a Baby Sack. It's pretty good for big excursions. Usually, though, I use my purse. A few diapers (I use 'sposies), a baggie with a few wipes in it, and my sling.. Oh, and some Hyland's Teething Tablets.

I don't reccomend sling style bags / messenger style as they put alot of pressure onto 1 shoulder and offcenter your body. It is bad enough that your childs weight can sometimes leave your back sore, you don't need this extra pain..
I ended up trading my messenger style diaper bag for a backpack.. even though it wasn't a diaper bag, it distributed the weight more evenly and made it less awkward to carry my ds.

I got the Sherpani "Lena" bag. It rocks!!! Nice size, but doesn't seem too big. Greeat colors/patterns. Just the right amount--and type--of pockets. Elastic straps on the bottom for a yoga mat or coat or whatever. Opens up really wide, sits stably, great shoulder/messenger strap and the bag itself has a hip-conforming shape. I found a good deal on it at www.atafa.com One of the things I look forward to about this bag is that it will make an excellent school bag for ME when it's retired from diaper duties (or when I go back to grad school in fall '07).

I have to say, diaper bags were something I spent an inordinate amount of time looking at/reading about online. I'm really happy with my purchase and the place from whence it came. I was really dismayed with Target and BabyCenter -- they pretty much don't ship diaper bags to APO addresses. Completely ridiculous. But that's another story. BabyCenter didn't have the color I wanted, anyway!
