no diaper bag.
I had a backpack as a purse for a long time, and I threw one or two diapers and wipes, wallet, lip balm, a couple of baby teethers and a board book.

Fun!

-- usually two medium Fuzzi Bunz (Katherine)
-- three small VB AIOs (homemade
) or three fitteds and two covers
-- bag to put dirty dipes in
-- sprayer bottle with diaper spray
-- yummy velour wipes
-- one flat
-- one snappi
-- some bum salve that doubles as a moisturizer in a pinch (because it's mostly lanolin and olive oil-based! from here

I never carry extra clothes. Sometimes I think I should, but... I haven't done it yet and I've been okay

it depends on teh day and the trip.
i have a smaller diaper bag that i will put 2 cd's and a travel wipe thingy in; with a change of clothes (learned my lesson there), a bib, burp cloth and a small blankey. A sling (unless he's in it). a paci (never uses it); a cloth bag that has some of my stuff in it (moisturizer, lip gloss, etc.) and my cloth wallet. also the wet bag for dirty cd's.
ipod, daily planner (since my blackberry died, i have a paper calendar. yuck!), cellphone and sunglasses!

If we are going out for most of the day or on a long trip, i have a larger quilt like bag (dont know that they call it), that i put all that stuff in, and add a cloth chanign pad, some snacks for me and ds2 and a few more diapers.

i think thats it. of course, this has all changed right now b/c we are using sposies so the diaper bags are much smaller. but im only doing that for another week or so and then im going to wash no matter what the septic guy says.

how fun!

*5-6 Prefolds
*about 8 qaurtered washclothes
*a peri bottle full of water or mild soap water
*those plastic keys
*a cloth book for the baby
*an extra diaper cover
*one extra pair of panties
*change of clothes for each kid (usually a dress they take up less room)
*my wallet
*my little neat notebook
*a pen
*crayons
*matchbox cars
*two apples
*a water bottle
*digital camera

(that's for a 3 year old and a 5 month old)

i usually forget a bag to put dipers in so i get it where i am, if none i wrap the diaper in the extra cover

i always have extra stuff inthe car too, clothes, blankets, sunhat, sunglasses, my wrap, snacks. if i will only be gone for a little while (like say store to store) i only bring in one diaper and a cover. I never use all my diapers but am so afraid she might dirty all the diapers in a n hour for some crazy reason and then i would have nothing ti put on her. Irrational fear.

Wow. You all carry a lot in your diaper bags!

I carry:
4 cloth diapers (2 per child).
Wipes
changing pad
A change of clothes per child, usually something thin and well-worn.
a wetbag
a thin blanket
a sunhat
sunblock
hand sanitizer

and if I'm not bringing my purse, I'll throw in my wallet, keys, and cellphone.

I don't wear make-up, just sunblock, so that's not an issue.

ETA: I have an extra bag I keep in the car with jackets, 2 extra diapers, a bottle of water, a mei tai, a pouch carrier, toys, and odds and ends. This bag is never to leave my car, and the one time my husband took it out thinking he was helping me out by cleaning up, I threw a bit of a panicked fit that shamed me afterwards.

Great idea, Panthira! I'm going to start keeping a bag like that in my car too. It'll cut down on the extra clothes I pack for just-in-cases. It's the clothes that suck up tons of room in my bag.

Mine is pretty minimalist.

1 or 2 diapers
2 wipes
changing pad
bag for dirty diapers
little prefold for spitup
duck rattle
wallet
cell phone
water bottle

That's the purse/diaper bag that goes everywhere. For really long trips (like last weekend when we went to visit my brother & family and were gone for 14 long hours) we take a bigger bag with more dipes and wipes and a change of clothes.

Mine (for my 5 mo. old and 3.5 yr. old):
3-4 prefolds
2 extra covers
ziploc with dry cloth wipes
changing pad
empty grocery bag for wet diapers
clean t-shirt for babe in case of emergency
wallet
cell phone
chapstick for me and the kid
sling, if it's not on me

For short outings (like to the park or store), I don't take a bag. I just stick my phone and wallet in my pockets. If there's a poop we just come home. There's an emergency diaper in my car but it's gotten muddy footprints on it from Julian climbing all over the place. There are also toys in the car (for both kids) which we carry with us sometimes.
Some of you carry so much stuff! I am soooo glad I don't have to deal with two diaper-aged kids!
