1) What do you put in <i>your</i> peri bottle to sooth the peri area post partum?<br><br>
2) I would like to get something that would be nice and soothing, but Singapore doesn't have a ton of (natural, herbal-type) options. I don't know about how the other ingredients are for soothing, but calendula is AWESOME. It's terrific to have by itself on hand as a tincture to dilute and use with any type of skin irritations like burns, cuts, grazes, sunburns, etc. It helps to use on baby's cord too till it comes off. It helps to heal very quickly and also has antiseptic properties.

Uva Ursi is a great herb for healing.<br>
This bath <a href="http://www.birthwithlove.com/categories/itempage.asp?pagenum=1&Manuid=&Subcat=07BB&catid=02AA&prodid=Postpartum+Sitz+Bath+Herbs++-HERBLORE" target="_blank">is good</a>. Just note that anything with comfrey shouldn't be used for deep tears, or in case of infection, since comfrey can speed healing so much that the outer layers of skin can close over a wound.

all the peri bottles i ever had reminded me of those restrant ketchup squirt bottles?? i dont know if they are the same thing but i think something like that in your local store would work.<br><br>
i have a sitz bath that i use and its the whole muslin, tea bag thing. dont know whats in the tea bags since my sister makes them but that does the trick.<br><br>
i am going to check out that website it might be nice to have it.

Ditto with the "squirt bottle", at least thats exactly like the one I got from the hospital with Baby #1 looked like. In that I used a mix of *warm* water and iodine.<br><br>
Then there is also the amazing Sitz bath! I *HIGHLY* recommend using one of those as often i.e. every time you go the bathroom to help with healing. Using a quality herbal additive is always nice too.<br><br>

I haven't seen a place here with peri bottles (or ketchup bottles <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"> ), so if I can find an online store, I'll order it, and have my mom in the U.S. ship it to me here. Your mom should be able to find a peri bottle at any drug store i.e. Walgreens, Eckerd, CVS or such. The one I got from the hospital came with the box of iodine wash.<br><br>

You could buy a peri bottle at <a href="http://www.InHisHands.com" target="_blank">http://www.InHisHands.com</a>... they sell birth kits and you can also buy stuff separately, create your own birth kit etc. I've ordered from them a couple of times now and always been happy.<br><br>
PS- I've only done warm water in my peri bottle for postpartum...<br><br><br>

I never thought to put anything other than warm water in it! I just use it to dilute my pee so it doesn't burn quite as bad coming out. But this time around I also have a perinium spray to use after I potty. That will be soooo nice!
