What do you use to prevent stretch marks?

I've heard all of my life about cocoa butter and that's what I have right now. I actually have a cocoa and shea butter cream. I got it because it was cheap, it was like 2 dollars, but Im not a fan of the texture.

Is there any specific brand you like or something else you use that you feel works great?

As far as I've heard nothing you rub on can really prevent stretch marks. But I have been using the Burt's Bees mama bee belly rub to help with the itching sensations and because it feels good. Last pregnancy a friend made me a belly rub that smelled like chocolate and it was heavenly...
I just keep *something* on my belly. Lotion, oil..something. It has more to do with your skins elasticity...keeping it moist helps, but doesn't always mean that you won't get stretch marks. Case in point: I got them pretty bad on my hips, boobs and under my belly with my first pg and I used EVERYTHING under the sun. I use practically nothing on my belly this time and I have seen a handful of new marks on my belly(and I'm a tad bit bigger this time)...so really, it just depends on how your elasticity is.
i'm using the lightweight kiehls creme de corps... which is my usual moisturizer. i like it because it just sucks itself right into your skin, totally moisturizing yet not greasy. i have a cocoa butter stick also, but i prefer something lighter.

i agree, i think the key is just to rub something moisturizing on there... especially after a shower!
I love bath oil, so I use Aura Glow in the rose smell and after I shower before i towel off i just rub it in all over then pat myself dry. I have had almost no stretch marks this pregnancy.

Like the pp's have said there really isn't anything you can put on your belly to avoid stretch marks. Either you will get them or you won't. It is genetic, does your mother have them?
As far as the itchy belly thing, any cream will do....really. It's just a matter of your own preference.

I have used Pregnant Belly Oil by Motherlove and it works very well! I began using it with my first pregnancy but only put it on my tummy. Well...nine months later, I did not have a single stretch mark on my tummy BUT I had them on my thighs and breasts! It never occured me to rub the oil there as well. My mother has the worst stretch marks I've ever seen so I thought I was doomed. The pregnant belly oil works! My husband applied it to my belly every morning and evening beginning at about 15 weeks.

For me it depends on what I will be wearing for the day. If it is something I don't care too much about- I use the Bath and Body Works shea butter (love that stuff). If I am going to wear something I do care about- I use Freederm moisturizer. That stuff is great but not quite so greasy.
I used Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter and Weleda Pregnancy oil.
Both worked really well
I don't think stretchmarks can be prevented, but I use St. Ive's lotion. I like how it smells and it helps my skin feel smooth and not dry.
Tamanu oil - it does fade stretch marks and improve the appearance of scars, and I'm convinced it prevents them! I mix it with a bit of Wheatgerm oil (for the high vitamin E content and healing properties), and a carrier oil like grapeseed, sweet almond or jojoba.
Weleda 9 months oil
I wanted to add that I also used Tummy Honey Butter and really liked it as well. Just for the record I put the cream all over me, and I only had stretch marks on my lower belly (i'm guessing because DS was 2 weeks late and had extra time to grow
)

but the creams really helped me with the itchy skin that drove me crazy when my belly started to pop around 20 weeks (last time 'round)

I've been using Palmer's Organic Cocoa Butter Tummy Rub. It feels great, smells lovely, and has seriously faded my stretch marks (they are more pink now than red/purple). I don't expect it to make them disappear, but it gives me some relief, and hopefully will ease up on any future stretch marks that show up. Best of all, it's only about $7.
I am using unrefined shea butter. I bought it in a bulk. I used it for my first pregnancy on my belly and I have no stretch marks
(could be luck too). I am doing it for this one too, I just haven't been as serious like my first I need to get more serious before my belly really start to get big.

I didn't put on my breast area and that area got some serious stretch marks when my milk came in, I started then and the basically all the stretch marks are gone. i can't believe it, it was so bad at first, but it could have just been because of the milk coming in. But I am putting it in that area too now.

Burt Bees Belly Balm (and my friend LOVES Motherlove Belly Balm). Slather it up everywhere...butt, thighs, breasts. This is pregnancy #4 for me and not a single stretchmark!
