What do you think about the name Ian for a boy? Would you choose it? What about good middle names to go with it?

I love the name Ian.

My older brother's birth name was Ian Christopher so I agree that they go well together.

I personally could never use Ian because that was the name of my first love so it's an association thing for me.

My DH has a friend named Ian Ashton. I absolutely love that name (and the middle name too) and wish we could use it, but it would be kinda odd because of dh's friend. Our almost 2yo son already has the same name as one of Dh's coworkers I have a think about needing names or nicknames to be 4 letters though...

I like it but don't love it. Someone once mentioned what a terrible name it was because it sounded incomplete. And I've never been able to get over that. Everytime I've heard the name since then, it actually does sound incomplete to me.

I like Ian. We are choosing our middle name totally separate from the first name and the only rule is that they can't start with the same sound.. what middle names do YOU like?

I like Ian, but I like Kian better and Liam probably better than that. I think that Ian goes with lots of middle names: Michael, James, David, Bruce, Scott

It really goes with lots of stuff.

I like Ian, sounds kind of like my ds named Liam I like short boys names that can't be dissected into nicknames. We do "family" middle names so I wouldn't be the best one to help you there...
