It seems like everyone else did this months ago, but we're a little behind. We don't know the gender, but here is our girl option:

Dagny Ruth

We are keeping it a secret until the birth because sometimes family and friends can be too pushy about names. But I wanted to share it with you. What do you think, ladies?

Ohhh I love Dagny! I don't think I've ever heard it before. Ruth isn't my favorite, but it sounds lovely with Dagny.

We are way behind on names. ..have a girl but not a boy name.

I love it. Someday when dh and I have another for us, if we have a girl her name will be after my grandpa Darby!

I love your girl name!

I love the name Dagny. I have loved it since my college obsession with Ayn Rand. I actually named my first dog Dagny or it would have been on our list too. I like the powerful woman connotation with it.

I don't like it ... I might choose a "prettier" middle name that she could opt for, if Dagny proves too cumbersome/tiresome/awkward. (How do you spell it? Is it a boy or a girl?)

It may be one of those names that she loathes growing up, but appreciates when she's older. I'm sure you have a lovely story to inspire her - how you chose this special name for HER and what it means to YOU.

Congratulations, regardless!

I have Norwegian heritage so Dagny is familiar to me and I like it. I don't think Ruth, being so English, goes too well with it, but it's super hypocritical of me to say that because I mix up origins in naming my own kids (Bodhi Patrick, Bjorn Annan...)!! Maybe I just don't love the combo- my problem, not your's!

I know one Dagny, she was the funniest little girl and has grown into a lovely teenager.
