I third ring slings as being lighter weight and more convenient than the Moby, especially for leaving the house, but I still prefer wraps. Moby is my favorite because baby can come in and out all day and you never have to take it off, but if you're looking for something to wear around the house when it's hot, I recommend looking into lightweight woven wraps. Some of the ways to wrap are "poppable", but I still usually just re-wrapped each time with the woven wrap. I just find wraps to be more comfortable and customizable than ring slings, but maybe that's just me, because I know lots of people love ring slings. I found the website www.wrapyourbaby.com really helpful the last time around. Woven wraps can get super expensive, but I used a coupon to buy under $15 of lightweight, non-stretchy fabric from Jo-Ann Fabrics and that worked totally fine. I'd have to go back to the store to remember what it was called, but I really liked it. (Also, if you're just planning to be at home, don't overlook wearing the Moby topless to stay cooler. It's essentially a shirt and makes breastfeeding easier anyway.)

For those of you that have a Boba, I assume that a soft-structured carrier that can hold a newborn would be cooler than a Moby? My Beco Gemini can hold a newborn, and it was not very hot, but I don't totally love it and didn't really use it until I was able to make the base wider for an older child.
