DH and I do not agree on names. Never have. But we finally came up with a name that we both like. I don't know if I'm in love with it yet and I wanted a little feedback from y'all. So here it is...

Linnea Mae

Pronounced lin-NAY-ah

Linnea is Scandinavian which is important to DH since that's his decent and Mae is my great grandmothers name.

Not in your ddc; saw under new posts. I think it is a very nice name. But be prepared for her to have to tell people how to pronounce it. I guessed correctly but some people will put the emphasis on the first syllable. That said, my name is easily mispronounced but I wouldn't change it.
I knew a Linnea in college. I don't think she had any problems with her name. It is lovely.
DDDC -

I think it's absolutely gorgeous - and if she has to help people pronounce it, big deal. Heck, I'm "Laurie" and still get Lori and Laura from people I've known for months/years.

What a beautiful name!
Linnea has a beautiful ring to it and Mae goes nicely. Good pick!

My mother-in-law has the same name and I think it is lovely. She spells it differently Linne with an ascent over the e but is pronnounced the same.
Very pretty name but I wouldn't have known how to say it without you pointing it out.
Linnea was on the top of my list for girls' names if this baby was a girl, so I
it.

Lovely! And that's exactly how I would have pronounced it, had you not specified.
ddc crashing to say I also knew a Linnea in college. Never a problem with pronunciation. It's a great name.
love it. great children's book "linnea in monet's garden?
saw this on new threads

I went to grad school with a Dutch girl named Linnea. Since it was a biology department, everyone knew how to pronounce her name. I really like it...I'd say go for it!
I really like that name. I have Scandinavian roots and am totally familiar with it. And for those who don't, half the kids nowdays have to spell or pronounce their names anyway.

I love it!

I wouldn't worry too much about pronunciation, people mispronounce easy Anglo-Saxon names too.
I know someone named this, too. It's a very pretty name

I like it, but I'm a biogeek and immediately associated it with Carolus Linneaus (the taxonomy dude).

Love it and got the pronounciation just fine.

I think it's very pretty, AND I think it takes a little while of saying a name before it grows on you totally anyway. So pefect, glad you all finally agreed on one mama.
