It's been a long time since I found something I've been really happy with for my face. I'm hoping you can tell me what you use and that will give me some new ideas to try. I have sensitive skin that tends to rosacea so I can't use anything that has beads or grit of any sort. I've been looking in the organic/health aisle at the grocery store and most of the choices seem to contain parabens and sls. Why is that? Is it not possible to make a good cleanser without these ingredients??? I'm almost done with my current cleanser (Zum facial soap bar) and would like to try something new.

I just got hooked on Juice Beauty products, which are organic and free of parabens. They are NOT cheap, but my skin LOVES them. I use the apple line from them. You can get samples of their products to try from Sephora, to make sure you respond well from them. Keep in mind that sometimes skin reacts to good stuff at first, until it finds balance.

On the cheap and easy side, I successfully used authentic African black soap and unrefined shea butter, which I ordered from Senegal from a lady off Ebay. They last foreeeeever, so they are cost effective, and naturally made by natives of Senegal at local markets there.

Feel free to inquire if anything interests you, and I'll point you in the direction I've been. I've used so many beauty products that it's embarassing to admit, and I have sensitive skin.

I use Aubrey Organics stuff. Their site has lots of info on how to match your skin issues with their products and I'm almost positive they have a line specifically for sensitive skin. I looked them up on that Skin Deep site first to see how their stuff rates.

I don't wash my face most of the time with anything except water and a washcloth. However, if I am feeling a little dirty I use doc bronners lavender soap. I do always moisturize after my shower (whether I've washed my face or not) with either olive oil or face cream I make myself. I have a recipe for a face cleansing cream if you want to try it out--pretty easy to make creams!

It sounds like we have the same skin! I use Burt's Bees Orange Essence facial cleaner. I love it but it takes a little bit to get used to since it is oil based not soap based.

I used castille soap and it freaked my skin out, made it oily because it was too drying, my skin started producing extra oil to make up for how much it dried my skin. Best bet for oily skin is, believe it or not, oil. Try the OCM-you'd be surprised.

I use a bar of tea tree soap by Dr. Bronners. It was suggested to me for when I have acne breakouts, but I use it all the time with no drying effects, even in the dry midwest winters.

You should try DHC cosmetics. They have an olive oil line that is wonderful. The website is www.dhccare.com. Don't let the price put you off. My "set" lasted for over 6 months.
