I filled out a form last week and the company insisted that I needed to put an occupation. I put "full-time parent", but consider my DH to be a full-time parent too even though his role as provider keeps him away from the house much of the time. I also thought that might be insulting to someone processing the form who might also be a parent.

What do you use as your job title on documents/forms?

Homemaker.

I don't like using 'mom' or 'full-time parent' or the like because my husband works for the money in our family and I don't consider him a 'part-time dad'. I'd feel like I was insulting all parents who work fo rmoney by implying they *weren't* full time parents or something. I don't know, just doesn't feel right to me.

I put down Homemaker. I cook the meals and do a thousand little things every day that make this house a home for my family. Maybe I should write Havenmaker, since the purpose of everything I do is to make our home a haven.
