What do you use for outings?

I'm thinking of trying wool for outings (usually do AIOs or pockets - PUL or Windpro). What do you use and how well does it work?

We use wool exclusively so ds wears it out and about too. Ds usually wears cpf's(sometimes fitteds)and then different wool. LTK soakers and Longies and Aristocrats. All of it works wonderfully.

I chose other! I usually use PF's and Covers but not wool. Or trim (like SP's) fitteds and covers!

fitteds and covers - sometimes wool, but not usually (I have 2 aristocrats for him - 1 nap / 1 nighttime and a few home-made wool soakers that aren't great)

In warm/hot weather we use fitteds with wool soakers for home (weekends/nights) and outings and just dont put pants over. For outings in cold weather we use pockets under clothes. For preschool during the week which is sort of an outing we use pockets and AIOs.

I voted fitteds / wool but its a bit more involved than that for us

GRR - can I edit a poll?? :LOL I meant to add fitteds/pfs and non-wool cover.

He starts out in the car in a HappyHeiny, if we need to change while we're out, he goes into another HH or an Angelwrap. I tried wool in the car but got compression wicking in the car seat. If I could have 0 compression wicking, I'd totally do more wool on outings! I probably will do wool more anyways, because of the heat this summer.

Fitteds and wool for outings.
Fitteds and wool for bed.
Fitteds and sometimes wool for home.

We always start the outing in whatever she's got on, but changes usually are into a pocket with aplix fasteners (or sometimes a side-snapping AIO) because it's fast to put on while balancing diaper paraphernalia & preventing dd from rolling off the tiny wall-mounted platform
. We have gone out with a T-shirt paired with a fitted & a wool soaker. No problems with wicking. I did change her after she wet--I only had a FB in the diaper bag, and I ended up putting the soaker back on top of it (it wasn't wet) because it looked so much cuter than the FB.

That's our problem too, Heather!! I would love for the girls to be able to wear their adorable soakers and shorts under sundresses, but I'm so worried about compression wicking.

I voted other because I can't vote twice.

For Corbin we use Happy Heiny's. He loves to wear his "digga!"(construction print) diaper out. Once we get some soaker he will wear those out, too.

For Hadley we use fitteds and wool covers. We tried HH but she leaks through them.

DS goes out in what I have, prefolds & covers

Well, pocket AIO's normally. But a few AIO's. When he has clean shirts to go with his soaker shorts he wears those over a fitted. Actually, we were planning on being out for a while once and he wore a pocket AIO under his soaker shorts.

I voted other because we got out in all of the above! It's usually what ever I have on hand.
I voted pockets because this is what I prefer during the summer mud-mosquito season when dd really needs to wear jeans. I'll also do a PUL cover and prefold or fitted underneath.

During the winter I used mostly wool pants and fitteds, this worked OK as long as we were prepared to ignore a bit of compression dampness, even with the sweaty wool it was easier than bundling dd up in snow pants.
i voted other too. i don't have an "going out" system. she goes out in whatever she's wearing (generally a fitted and cotton, wool or nylon cover). the diaper bag diapers rotate too, but currently it's generally hemp flats and bumkins covers since they take up almost no room in the diaper bag.
I use my kushies AIOs when going on long outtings were I need fast changes. Honestly I love mine there so trim and daddy proof, I don't understand why they get such a bad rep, though I do agree there lousy as a newborn diaper. But once past the BF poop only explosive stage I love mine.

I voted pockets because that's what we use now, but we have s soaker on the way and I'd like to try that with fitteds for more breathability.

We use fitted & wool when out & about!
Occasionally prefolds too
(Pretty ones that I dyed).

I have a few AIO's that I will take for outings because they don't take as much room in my diaper bag. But more and more I've noticed myself using the wool while out too. I've never had a problem using wool out either, it's worked great for us. And I can't wait for winter so I can use some longies instead of pants!! I can't believe how seriously excited I am about that.
