prefolds, fitteds?
A specific kind / type for day or night?

I want to order some wool but I am new to CDing & still trying to figure out what works best for us!

Whatever diaper works best for you. I don't pick my diapers according to the fact that we use wool. Most any diaper - prefolds or fitteds - works just fine under wool.
I use mostly fitteds with my wool covers, but you could certainly use prefolds, flats, whatever you like.

We use a combo of prefolds and fitteds (muttaqin & Lovey Bums) under wool during the day, and pockets with wool covers at night.
We usually use fitteds with wool, although I have used prefolds before.
We use a snappied pre-fold. The fit is perfect every time and we rarely have leaks. I think the jelly-roll fold works best under wool without a gusset.
I have fitteds and use them sometimes but usually I put dd in a prefold. I LOVE prefolds!

what do you use to care for/lanolize your wools? (spray, solid, etc..)

what method works best for you? (soak for how long, spray inside/outside, etc...)

I use mostly prefolds and flats snappied during the day and fitteds during naps/bedtime/or going out.

I wash my wool with Sudz n Dudz wool wash bars (it lasts forever!) and just use plain lanolin and baby shampoo to lanolize. I don't really like the spray as I can't get aheavy enough lanolizing with it. I know a lot of people use it in between lanolizings (is that even a word?
) to "freshen" up their wool.

I use a big square rubbermaid container and fill it about half full with warm water. I rinse my woolies under warm water and scrub with the wool wash bar and my hands and then let it soak in the tub of water for maybe 10-15 minutes. Then I dump the water out, put new warm water in. I put a dab of lanolin (maybe 1/2" from the lansinoh tube), water and a squirt of baby shampoo in a small container and pop it in the microwave for 15-30 seconds to melt. After I take it out, I shake it up really well to make sure the lanolin is emulsified and then dump it in the tub of fresh water. Put my woolies in for 15-20 minutes (or until I remember!
). Take them out and squeeze the water out with a towel and then let them air dry. I usually wash AND lanolize once a month to every month and a half. I just WASH maybe every 2-3 weeks depending on how much use they are getting.

Usually pinned or snappied prefolds during the day and a fitted at night. Both work great.

I've been using Naturally Luxe(Monkey Sudz) WOW wool wash for the last 1 1/2 yrs or so, and I love it. It cleans well and has a high enough lanolin concentration that I don't have to lanolize as a separate step. Plus, every scent I've tried has smelled delicious. All I do is rinse the wool out under tepid water, then put a tsp or two of WOW in the sink swirl a little to mix and let the woolies soak for 15 min and that's it.
