what do you wash dishes with?

I am tired of sponges- they get old and gross and I have to throw them away. What do others use?

knitted or crocheted cotton dishcloths
they hold soap really well. I have 7, so I have a clean one every day.

what a good idea, do you make them yourself?
Waffle weave dishcloths. I like them better than crochet or towel-like dishcloths. (I prefer the crocheted ones because they are much prettier - but the waffle weave does a better job for me.)

I found some at a thrift store and now if they get too gross, I turn them into rags and make new ones out of a cut-up waffle weave dishtowel. They are about the same size as an infant washcloth. In fact, I bet those would work, too.
I really prefer a dishcloth (not too big), but DH insists on using sponges and he does most of the dishes. I throw the sponge in the washing machine every few days. Wash and dry on hot and it's not so icky anymore.
I started out using dish clothes when I first set up home. Then I switched to sponges. Now I will probably go back to dishclothes as I am trying to cut as much disposable (and as much money spent) out of our lives as possible.
I use dishcloths. To scrub, I use the netting that the oranges come in. I just ball it up and it works great.

Yep, it's how I practice a new stitch when I'm learning it. I just make a square
Sugar and Cream is a good cotton yarn to use. Also Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton.

You can also use a large crochet hook to make a big scrubby pad out of them.
just jumping in here with a vote for the crochet cotton knit ones, my mom made me a bunch and I love them. We also have sponges because dh prefers them. And a plastic scrubby pad thing.
Dish Clothes.

In Canada, there are these dishclothes called J-Clothes. They are reuseable, for quite awhile. You get a roll of them, 50 or so, for 3 dollars. I always thought this was standard, until I moved down to the states and couldnt find them!!!

I tried sponges but didnt like it. I found some dish clothes to use, but not the same as J-clothes!
Dishcloths--the kind available in a pack of 10 or 12 for a few dollars. I have a whole lot of them and use a clean one each time I wash dishes, then hang it up to have handy for wiping the counter.
DH uses sponges and I use cloths. For scrubbing we have a scrub brush. The sponge and brush are put in the machine when it is run. I've also tossed the sponge into the laundry and it works well.
I have always used the dishcloths that come in the pack..My mom always did so I do...I haven't really ever given thought to a sponge

Has anyone tried those miracle cloths? I've heard from a few people that they were just awesome but I still don't know much about them.
