I go to a fair amount of playgroups and it seems there is always someone interested in cloth once it comes up (and somehow it always does). A lot of times, I find that someone in the group uses a diaper service and is interested in buying their own, and then others listen in and it becomes a big CD convo.

Anyway, I tend to put Ava in a FuzziBunz when I think this opportunity will arise. The reason why is that its easy to convince someone they are pretty great since they keep babies dry, are easy to clean, and don't really ever leak for us. I just have a feeling if I put her in wool, it would be a tough sell. Plus, FB are so easily available, it's easy to tell someone where to buy them if they find themselves interested, you know?

Just curious if you have a convert-diaper that you use for those opportunities!

My bag has a couple cute AIOs, some soft PFs w/ snappi, a couple fitted types (cotton outer or all hemp) and cute covers. Today I was talking with some custodians at the office. They were at least intellectually interested and I showed them several different kinds. We talked some about cost and that it can be cheap or more expensive. If I'm in the church crowd (I go to a church w/ lots of wealthy professionals), then I have basically the same variety-- but demonstrate more of the "fashion accessory side" of CD.

My bag is basically the same, but what I pull out or how I talk about it can change depending on the crowd.

I always carry a baby softwrap PUL (for the cuteness factor) and a wonderoo (for ease of use and availability) to 'show off'. Sage is almost always in one of the two anyway, but I keep them in my bag for 'demos' while out and about.

Our "convert" dipe is usually Fuzzibunz, because they keep baby dry, and are leakproof, easy to put on, trim, and easy to get. However, if I think the potential convert is most concerned about cost, the convert dipe is a prefold and wrap (Litewrap).

Maybe that's why I've never scored a convert, I always have my kids in wool! :LOL Sometimes DD will be in one of her LHC AIO's but we have no other covers other an wool. And I always try to have them in their CD advocacy tees.

Whenever someone sparks some interest in cloth diapering... it *never* fails that the kids are wearing big bulky granny panties. :sigh:

'cept when I met maggie at the mall, Ellie had an 7th heaven wool cover with Ariel on it
But that wasnt a convert LOL. But maybe if Maggie hadnt noticed Ellie's big wool bootie then she wouldnt have said hi to me.

I like to put Nathan in his peach velour Little Caboose fitted. It's all velour on the outside and my mom says it just looks soft! We go coverless everywhere so I don't even bother with wool or PUL. We do ge nice compliments often but no converts yet.. I just don't like going into salesman mode so I don't push too hard.

Dang, I wanted to add a couple of pictures, but photobucket is down...

My two favorites are my turtle set from weceedee. She made a beautiful snap (instead of buttons) collared shirt in a wonderful colorful print and appliqued a turtle on a doodlebottoms cover and the turtle's shell matched the shirt.

The other is an african type print pocket. I sent the fabric to a WAHM and she made me the dipe. The inner is black suedecloth; looks so yummy. I try to change him into this one in front of people.

Poor kid; he gets a lot of peopl looking at his gorgeous dipes and his intact boyhood; hope he's never shy

I'm pretty sure that both of these are in the diaper stash pictures thread.

i'm still new & haven't had the chance to try converting yet (we're going to 2 great music/sign language classes in july- better audience there
but i'm thinking sushi simply cloth AIO- big attention grabber! she wore it to a birthday party & the kid-free grownups went nuts over it! (then again, they also thought her frogs bummis wrap was great too!)

I usually have a cute print pocket dipe like Knickernappies.......people are usually so impressed with the soft fabrics and snaps.....I also put her in as many advocacy tees as possible.....after all, that is what they are for......to spread the word and have people ask questions, right?
