I had my gallbladder removed almost 1.5months ago and I have been healing great. But the other day I noticed something white on 2 of the cuts I thought it was just the glue they used working loose. Then the larger cut developed a loop and again just thought it was the glue since when I tried to pull it off it hurt so I stopped.<br><br>
Well tonight for the first time I got a clear view of the "white" things and they are STRING!!!! they do not look like any stitches I have ever seen before, fishing line like. These are pure white and you can actually see the weave of the thread <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> I am pretty sure it is stitches but <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/scared.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="scared">: Why would they be there? and when will they go away? or do I need to go back to the surgen and let him look or what. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/help.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="help">

It is to bad that the one with the loop isnt at my belly button I could actually hand a belly ring from it <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

I had one of those from my section...They use really thick dissolving sutures inside and one popped through the corner of my slightly infected incision...it did go away, but it took like 2 months...you might want to call the surgeon though.

Well the nurse finally returned my call and she said it was a disolving stitch. Good to know they didnt leave anything in there they shouldnt have but still <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/bigeyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="bigeyes">:<br><br>
Here are pics if you want to see them. They are not gross just disturbing. The pics are blurry but you can see how large the string is.<br><br>

I had the exact same thing come out of my scar. When it did finally dissolve, it left a tiny little scar next to my nasty big scar so I can see exactly where it was. Weird!
