What does it mean when a WAHM offers a custom slot?
You pay money for it but what exactly happens after that?
Does that money go toward your order, or is it payment only for a place in line??
Just wondering......

It depends on the wahm. Some wahms will charge for the custom slot and it WONT go towards your purchase and sometimes it WILL go towards a purchase. So email the wahm first. Normally you pay for your slot and the wahm will contact you to ask what you want.

Are you serious?? I can't believe someone would pay for a place in line and it wouldn't even go towards their order!
There are really WAHMs that do that? And if so can I have some links so I can go and look for myself? LOL

A custom slot at my store is an order placed for a soaker or pants or whatever, the custom slot is the same as buying instock, only you get to pick the colors and design, they are the same price as an instock item, no extra chage, coupons apply, it is just a 'pre-order' that has to be constructed still. ~

I think that if it goes towards shipping then it is going towards the order. I know a WAHM that takes a loss on all shipping that costs more than her custom slot fee. I certainly don't see anything to complain about there!
eta: I also wouldn't mind paying a small fee just for the privilege of having a custom slot. If the merch is reg price but the WAHM is doing something special just for me, she SHOULD charge more!

I myself have no problem with this. The WAHM will have to do extra stuff to make the custom order and it will take more of her time than her regular stuff. She may have to obtain materials for the custom order that she does not usually carry, she will have to spend time with the customer discovering exactly what they need, etc. All in all, I think a nominal $3-$5 fee for custom orders above and beyond the cost of the actual order is fair to both parties, the WAHM and the customer.
