I got this stuff last year & no one could explain it to me. So now I come armed w/ a photo!
This stuff is all over my garden, which is a raised box. It doesn't seem to bother my plants. It spreads out onto the soil but it also is on the wood frame around the soil. It looks as if someone sprayed the soil w/ foam! Its rubbery to the feel & I can peel it off the soil pretty easliy. It has tiny white roots. The surface is covered w/ pin prick holes. I'm assuming it a fungus.
Can anyone me? Will I grow a third head if I eat anything from my garden?
Thanks!!!!

eeeeeeew...! I don't know, but I hope someone can tell you!

If it is a fungus, try the following organic fungicides:

Quote:
If you need a good safe organic fungicide simply mix 2 tablespoons of Baking Soda per gallon of water, spay the plants liberally. This puts an alkaline coating on the plants which doesn't allow the fungus to grow and is completely safe for both plants and animals.

Quote:
Milk is an ideal organic fungicide for protecting cucumbers and other vegetables.
FWIW... I've seen instructions that dilute the milk as much as 1 part milk to 10 parts water.

If it dies, you know it's a fungus! Hope someone else has better info! Oh... I've also seen this growing on concrete in an area of CONSTANT water trickle/runoff. Maybe that will help identify it?
