Hi ladies! I am in the process of writing up my business plan and setting out on opening an NFL style boutique - and an online store as well. I will be selling cloth diapers as part of my merchandise - and I am wondering, what is a ball park amount I can expect to profit from selling diapers? I haven't contracted anything yet with Mother of Eden or Cotton Babies or any other wholesalers, so all I know is their minumum cost for start - not how many daipers that equals - so I am wondering, about how much can I expect to make off each diaper??<br><br>

Most diaper wholesalers have strict MSRPs - in my experience you would make about 4 - 5 dollars per diaper sold. Not the most lucrative profit margins; I like to sell to items that I can at least mark up 100%, but many diapers would wholesale for $10 and you could only sell them for $15. But that was a few years ago, maybe things have changed!

One of the stores that I sell to (not diapers) said that the margin on cloth diapers is still not very high, maybe 30% or a little more. They carry Fuzzi Bunz, prefolds, Kissaluvs, Swaddlebees, and Bummis covers, Stacinators and maybe a few other things.

This is right - the profit margin on diapers is usually around 30%. You have to sell a LOT of diapers to turn a profit. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">
