I am 14 months postpartum, nursing and still have not had a postpartum period. With my other 2 children AF returned at 14 months. I have had 3 days of very very light, brownish spotting.

Is it my period trying to start?
Could it be implantation bleeding? (my temps are low, but dh and I had sex at about 7 and 9 days ago while I had a fertile quality cm.)

Any guesses??

Spotting lasted for about 48 hours and stopped completely.

Is that a common way to resume menstruation after 14 months?
Certainly not common for me.

It could definately be some breakthough bleeding that would normally mark the end of an anovulatory cycle. It could be your body trying to start over, as a new cycle.
That being said, the more months pass without having a period, after having a baby, the more likely it is that you will ovulate before bleeding. Soo it's very possible that it could be implantation. Especially a week after sex. In which case a test will likely be positive in a few more days.
