I don't feel well. I haven't felt well in almost 3 weeks.

I came down with a virus (cold type thing) a few weeks ago. Sneezing, runny and stuffy nose, headache, chills and fever, some aching but not like the flu. It lasted for a few days (I was pretty laid up) and then I started to feel better and was feeling pretty good when I started to get achy again about 2 days after feeling better. The headache, fatigue, achiness returned along with sinus pressure and yellow snot. This lasted about a week. I assume it had turned into a sinus infection. So then I "got over" that and was at Wal Mart (probably a couple of days after feeling better) and all of a sudden I felt chills go up and down my body several times, not the chills like when you're cold, just chills. : I felt really nauseated and had a "weird" feeling. I felt almost like I was dying. I felt like I was so weak even though I had no real weakness in my muscles, I just felt so weak. I came home and laid in bed all night not wanting to move, talk or anything. My dh had to take off of work. The "chills" continued and then by late evening it had mostly subsided. I was so scared I was sure I had been poisoned or something terrible.

Then a few days ago I started feeling achy throughout the day and getting a mild fever and fatigue. I just feel unwell. The chills also came back, but as I said I am not cold. It likes waves going up and down my body, I guess. This is still happening and I started to get that feeling like I did before that scared me so bad, but now I just feel achy, tired, and feverish. I also started having loose bowels off and on, but sometimes that happens, especially during af which I am having right now. So I don't know if it's related. I also had a coughing spell last night in the middle of the night that seems to have come from some congestion in my chest (my chest hurt a bit).

What could this be? Could it be a virus that my body is having a hard time fighting off? I'm really scared. I might have adrenal exhaustion (my naturopath said she was sure I had it even though I wasn't tested), I also have anxiety but this is not from that. I know I have problems as it usually takes me longer to get over things than normal people and I am seeing an acupuncturist tomorrow for a lot of things.

Oh, I also got this pain just below my knee over a month ago but I never hurt my knee. I thought it would go away but it still hasn't. There are good days and bad days. It hurts when I bend down or press it on the floor, get up from sitting. Just below my kneecap.

I just feel like poo and I want to know why. I can't afford any more dr visits as the one tomorrow is all I can afford right now. I just need some answers. Anyone have any thoughts? Im' convinced I'm dying of a terrible disease especially after that weird night of feeling like I was "dying".

Thanks.

Update: My nose is kind of stuffy and it's turning into a bit of a sinus pressure feeling again. My glands in my neck also feel a bit swollen. Maybe it's just a really strong virus hanging on...or I'm really weak. What can I do to kick it's butt?

I have had the same symptoms (minus the knee pain) for the past 4-5 wks and finally broke down and went to the walk-in clinic on Mon. I have a sinus infection and rather than the normal 10 days of antibiotics, the doc put me on for 4 wks because I left it for so long. She scolded me for not getting treated sooner. I had eaten boxes of cold & sinus meds and taken a ton of Airbourne supplements but nothing helped. Sounds like you may have to go to the doc.

Calm down. We don't die that easily. We actually last quite well, generally, but fear can do some weird things and make a person freak out completely.

I suspect you are fighting a virus BUT the chills are fear/anxiety related.

I guess I should not go on until I see how you respond to this statement...

Here is what you can do for the virus.

Thanks.

Canadianchick-I too was thinking it might be a lingering sinus infection. But I hate antibiotics nor can I afford them right now. I'm also very sensitive to medications. I will talk to my acupuncturist about this tomorrow.

Gitti- I will look over your list and follow it as best I can. It seems very thorough! As to your statement...I've had anxiety all my life. I've had the chills with anxiety where I'm not cold and I shake all over. This is more of a when you're about to throw up and you get those waves of "chills". I just get a few in a row and then they're gone. Very strange.

Yes, I just saw that you posted about nomorpanic, so I guess you would know the difference between being sick and having a panic attack.

Then it's got to be a weird virus. And viruses can certainly do that.

Should I be concerned about something serious since the symptoms are "weird"?

Hmmm. I'm in Texas and am experiencing the same things off and on for the past 2 weeks -- major sinus issues, achiness, fatigue, headache, fever, loose bowel, even the knee pains. Except my knee pain seems to be above my knee cap and it's in both knees. It gets worse with the fever. WTH? Is there some weird bug going on? I'm in the Austin area, BTW. Are you coughing? I'm coughing like crazy. I'm also having shoulder pain in both shoulders all over.

I went to a doc in the box yesterday and he checked me out and did a blood panel and everything came back fine. He did prescribe antibiotics (Biaxin) but I have not taken them yet.

I go to bed way before my normal bedtime too (except for tonight.)

What's up? It does sound kinda viral, doesn't it?

HI mama. I'm from Austin! Well, I don't live there now, but I live 45 minutes north and I'm down there all the time due to family. I was just there yesterday and had lunch at The Satelite Cafe and ice cream at Austin Scoops. Mmmmmm Are you north, south....?

Yeah, my acupuncturist says that my body is worn down from all the stress/anxiety I've suffered for so long and I've developed weak immunity and hypersensitivity to medicines, foods, everything. He's going to help me work on this. Besides a dry mouth that I've had for 3 days now I felt much better yesterday and today. It's weird.

Well, I would not take that route. In my opinion the first and best thing to do is to concentrate on getting back to health in as natural a fashion as possible. This way you don't do any additional damages.

I have made it a point in my life to always be aware of how healthy I am. When I do get sick, I know that I have health to back me up and I must get back to it. This is why when I am sick it generally doesn't last more than a day or two at the most. I will not permit that.

Health is our goal. Sickness we want to avoid and even ignore at times. Sickness comes and GOES. Health is the basic and permanent state which is only overruled when we let it be. At that time we have to concentrate on regaining health without delay and without doing damage.

As you can see, I feel our own mind has a LOT to do with being and staying healthy. Talk to yourself.

There is definitely some strange virus going around. My husband just spoke to a colleague in Florida who has been having the same symptoms, including major knee and back pain. He (DH's colleague) knows others in Florida who have had the same thing and many of them have turned into baterical infections in the chest, requiring abx. I think that is what happened/is happening with me.

Weird.

The rest of it sounds like a strong virus. This part though, sounds a bit like when I get hypoglycemia.
