Some of you might have seen my post the past two weeks about DS suddenly changing from 1 yellow poop per day to 6-10 green poops per day. Well now baby had a bit of blood in the feces... what is wrong with my baby? He is still pooping a lot, though not as much as he had been. He is down to 4-8 poops per day now, and some are nice and yellow, but some are still green. What's going on here? Please help me.

Blood in the stool is an indicator of an allergy going through his system. Have you recently begun eatings omething different? Dairy, soy, wheat are the top allergens. Berries and nuts are strong allergens most often causing serious issues.

It doenst nessecarily mean a change in diet right? A baby who seemly was bf fine before can start to show signs of an allergy later on right? (did that even make sense

I didn't catch your previous posts, so I don't know all the details, but my baby had the same problem with green poop. It turned out to be a for/hindmilk imbalance. I had a lot of milk and an overactive let-down. I started to blockfeed and she has been fine ever since.

As for the blood, sometimes the for/hindmilk embalance gives them explosive poops and it can cause small tears and cause a little bleeding. This happened to my DD once and scared the Begeezers out of me. It turned out to be alright though.

If it continues you may want to call your pediatrician though.

He could have picked up some sort of virus. They always turned my kids poops green for a couple days and then they returned to normal. Did he go for a two month visit recently? He could have been exposed to something at the doctor's office. Just thinking outloud.

If you haven't changed his diet in any way, and food sensitivities are not the problem, you might consider posting on the vaccine forum to see if it could have been an adverse reaction.

Yeah, what Angela said.......
:

Also, BFing boards here are a great resource for other moms that have BTDT.

To make you smile......
my SIL and I both have babes close in age, mine older. After her babe arrived, I had to start conversations with, "OK, lets try not to talk about poop!" It never worked......"its like water, its green, its everywhere, it just keeps coming, etc."

I know other BFing moms can relate......especially with our first DCs.

I have been block feeding, in the hope that it would help the color. it helps some, the poop isn't as green. DS doesn't see a Dr. and is not vaxed, so if he picked something up, he got it from around here, though that's unlikely, my family is very careful about germs b/c my grandpa has lung cancer.

I'm really leaning towards the anal fissure/explosive poop, since i havent seen any blood today.

thank you all!

I think as far as the blood goes...is it in the stoll, or around it? If it's around it, it could be caused from fizzures, which are small tears in teh anus, which I believe can happen from either constipation, or from going a lot...which sounds like your dc! It reallysound like sick poo to me, is your dc teething? I know sometimes that affects poo....I hope it all clears up soon!!
