I've been using Fuzzi Bunz at night with an MOE insert and a BabyKicks hemp insert, and it's been working great, but...

since he's in it for such a long time, I would love it if we used a more breathable solution.

I had an Aristocrat, but I sold it because I just couldn't bear to put it on him - in the 1/2 hour he would wear it before bed, I just KNOW he'd rip it or stain it or something! :LOL That's my whole problem with wool, I'm afraid it will get ruined with by my frisky toddler!

Anyway - so I was just wondering what everyone is using at night, and how it works for you, and whether you really LIKE what you're using.

We use an SOS with a doubler and some sort of wool cover ... usually a Kiwi Pie, Sugar Peas, BBB or KIYP.
the fitted and wool combo and never had a leak ... ever.

We have pretty much always used SOS fitteds (were doing hemp but now OC/OV) w/ wool. I love our Aristocrat and Ruskovilla Nappy Pants (long for winter/short for summer) for overnight. I also have a double layer Kiwi Pie that is super bulky so we only use that for night too.

We never had a leak w/ that combo - even when he slept for 12 hours at night and nursed all night long (he didnt night wean til about 22 months).

Now of course he still wears the SOS and wool but wakes up dry every morning

I use a wool/cashmere liner against the skin to wick moisture into the diaper, organic cotton perfold for extra absorbtion, fitted diaper and over it all a pair of wool interlock pj pants .
My toddler lives in her wool and she is no delicate flower :LOL
I try to choose colors that won't show stains or I start with light colors and when they start to look tired I dye them a darker color

I'm :LOL over here because our toddlers are around the same age, and mine wears the same combo and wakes up dry each morning too. I'm almost afraid to change our combo in case he regresses ... it's so nice not waking up to a soaked diaper!

Hmmm... I have some wool covers that a mama here gave me for free. I have a few fitteds that I don't really use, too. Maybe I will throw a hemp doubler into the fitted and use the wool and see where that gets me.

Thanks! I love hearing about how everyone else does nighttime.

Nighty Newts. I have a SUPER soaker and Nighty Newts work really well for us. Also, LC Night Lights but those are hard to find.

I pair it (fearlessly!) with Kiwi-Pie rice cashmere or plain cashmere or knitted wool. In fact, bedtime is the only time I trust her in some wool I really don't want ruined, lol. In the middle of the night I can pet her cashmere KPs, lol.

Most of the time I use an HH - quick and easy to get her ready for bed, and she's usually having a fit while I'm doing it so quick is necessary. We also use hemp fitteds with Stacinator fleece covers - I put those on her when she's not fighting me. Since it's washable I don't worry about her messing it up - that's my big fear with wool too.

Nathan wears any fitted I want with any wool cover I want because I change him if he's wet at night.. most nights he doesn't wet.

I just wanted to respond and say don't be afraid of killing your wool! About 8 months ago I decided to let go of worrying about preserving my diapers and covers. He's to a point that he hasn't changed sizes in a long time and I don't need to constantly sell everything we own.. instead I need to use it!

I can't tell you how many of his covers have met the washing machine on accident over the past few months. It's ok.. it's ok if he gets dirty or a hole. So far things are fine and it's really nice to just consider all of your diapers/covers to have lost their resale value by at least half and just enjoy them for what they are.. diapers and covers instead of things to be preserved. I say all of this from experience.. I used to be very careful with everything he owned.. I like it better this way!

I hope nothing I said sounded harsh, it was all out of love because I want you to be able to use the things you have.

Usually Mason wears a pinned toddler ipf w/ a premium ipf as a doubler covered with a me-made 'Crat style wool cover (from a recycled lambswool sweater I felted). It seems to breathe a lot better than when I put an overstuffed FB on him. Sort of bulky but some nights he's at the open booby bar and needs all that stuffing!

We recently switched from Fuzzi Bunz with 3 hemp inserts to Ecobunz Hemp Fitteds - with the complimentary additional drop-in doubler our little one makes it through the night even while breastfeeding through the night.

Ella is a SUPER soaker and has soaked thru every sposie we tried! We have been using a Harleyz hemp pocket, stuffed with a hemp PF under a Celtic Wolf cover since she was about 10 mos old and it has never failed us! I use the same combination now for Vivi. I am afraid to try anything else!

We use hemp prefolds (I second Little Lounging Lizards) or hemp Cloud Nine Softies, topped with wool (pickle pants). Works great for us.

We've found that Under The Nile fitteds combined with an Aristocrat or longies is a no-fail system. (And attainable) Our favorite nite dipe would be FCB nightlights. (Not so attainable) but we only have a couple- so we have to improvise.
