Other than homemade, LOL. I would love to make homemade bread but I just don't have the time anymore and I was never that great at it.

Anyway, the only bread in the store that seems worthwhile to me is Sara Lee Heart Healthy Plus Wheat bread.

If I look at regular cheap wheat bread, it has no fiber! WTH are they doing to it that it's supposedly a wheat bread and has no fiber?!?

So, I'm just curious what bread you use and why, and what kind of nutritional value it has.

My DS is finally into smallish sandwiches so I have been giving it some thought lately.

I make my own sourdough most of the time. However, when we are visiting friends or relatives, or I'm just not into making bread, I buy a couple different varieties:

Sprouted grain breads:
Ezekial 4:9
Alvarado St. Bakery sprouted wheat

Sourdough/fermented breads:
Rudi's sourdough
Local bakery sourdough

I don't like the whole wheat-type breads, as I find they are hard for me to digest. My children have trouble with them, too.

When we buy bread, which isn't too often, we get the bread from the bakery at Whole Foods. It is definately not inexpensive but it is so delicious. It is a lot thicker/heartier than the packaged bread so for some it might take some transition time. I get the whole wheat breads, spelt, one with a bunch of seeds, and an ancient grains bread. I don't know how much better it is than the packaged bread but it doesn't have the added sugar. For the life of me I can not find packaged bread at a normal grocery store without high fructose corn syrup - BLEH!

Sarah Lee Whole Wheat Bread with Honey. It's important to get the WW bread that's sweetened with honey, because the "regular" Sarah Lee WW is sweetened with HFCS.

Food For Life's Ezekiel 4:9 sprouted grain bread - Because the wheat is sprouted it releases its energy. It's very good. Great for Type Os!

I enjoy the Cinnamon Raisin and Sesame varieties too. I really enjoy the Genesis bread (lots of seeds) as well.

We also eat Pita Break's Breakfast Muesli breakfast pitas.
