I'm going to hop in on this thread because I am considering buying a sewing machine tomorrow! I'm thinking about a Kenmore that is going on sale for 229 tomorrow morning -- http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02019110000P. Of course, I"m already drooling over the ones that monogram and have zillions of stitches.

What do you think? Is the knot feature at all important, or can I go cheaper?

I've got a kenmore, have had it over 15 years, not a thing wrong with it... knock on wood. Only thing I'd worry about that one being a computerized one, if it did go wonky would it cost a butt load to fix it? does look neato though!
