for hot weather? I want to get DS a pair of sandals, but most of the ones I see dont have much venting. It gets to be in the 100's here, and I want him to be comfortable. Also, a lot of the soft shoes I've been looking at say you cant use them outside (if dc is walking). What do you think?

Both of my DC use soft soled shoes outside, and we've never had a problem in our almost 4 years. Granted, I wouldn't use soft soles in a busy city, where there may be glass or other objects that I just don't see, however, around home and at parks we do wear soft soles (Robeez and Target brand). Both girls have Robeez sandals, and they are fairly well vented, haven't had any trouble with them causing DD's to be too hot.

How old is DS? If they make them in his size, Crocs are an excellent alternative. DD1 wears Crocs most of the time.

I like Lil Jo's because the leather is thinner than Robeez, but they still hold up really well.

http://www.liljos.com/
