I sprinkle bakind soda in my pail (diaper buddies are cool) and then be sure to add vinegar to the rinse cycle to balance the pH level.

I use a Happy Tushies pail liner and a Bummis. For the money and for what they do, the bummis is a great value!

I just bought two waterproof bags from the camping section at Walmart and a regular old kitchen style garbage can - worked great for me, and was really cheap! The one in the pail gets dumped in the wash along with diapers, and the extra goes in the pail after I spray it out and put it in the sun for a bit.

I have two MOE pail liners that I rotate. They have a little pad thingy sewn into the seam for deodarizing - I drop about 5 drops of TTO on it and the stink goes away (or becomes overpowered really).

I don't use a pail - but I use pail liners alone - they are made by Happy Tushies and are WAY too pretty to hide
They have a little handle thing to hang up and use without the need for a pail.

Have and
my Bummi's.

I actually take an old wash cloth and I drizzle apricot oil on it, and put it between the lid and the pail (Rubbermaid trash can w/flip top lid from Target), so that when I pop it open, I smell that.. and not the amonia. I then just wash it when I wash the dipes, and repeat when I put the bag back in! Also.. I will sometimes leave a pail disk (that I've gotten as a sample) between the Bummis and the bottom of the pail

I'm weird I guess. (go figure, right) I don't use a pail liner. Since all the poo goes in the toilet, i just throw dipes in my pail, which is a large kitchen trash can. After I dump dipes into the wash, I spray the pail with my "cleaning solution" which consists of vinegar, water, and some essential oil for scent. Most of the time, that takes care of smell. I'll either wipe the inside of it quickly, or if it's a super stinky load, I'll stick it out in the sun for an hour or so. I rinse it out really well about once a month.

As for ammonia, the best thing for me is to wash often. Also, NOT having an airtight seal on my dipes seems to keep the smell down some, too. If it starts getting rank, and I can't wash right away, I will put a scoop of baking soda on top, and that will tame it for a little while.
