An hour after I really want them too
.

We start getting ready for bed about 8 pm and they're usually in bed by 9:15 or so. I really need to move that back to getting ready at 7:30, but some days I don't get home from work until close to 6 pm, and 7:30 is just too early. And now that it's light out and the weather is good, kids are outside playing until 8 or 8:30. I have enough trouble bringing my kids in at 8!

Maybe we just need to speed up the bedtime routine. It's gotten insanely long.

Usually whenever we do. We typically start heading to bed by 8 pm and
DS (3.5) is generally asleep by 9 pm, sometimes 8:30 or 8:45 if we're lucky and he's especially tired. Although now that I'm pg I'm exhausted so we all seem to be in bed about a 1/2 earlier than usual.

8pm

Our boys are 6 and 9. We start getting ready for bed at around 7:15. The goal is to be in bed by 7:30 and from then until 8pm we read to them. Lights go out at 8. Sometimes they don't end up in bed until 7:45, but lights go out at 8pm no matter what.

It gets a little more relaxed in the summer but otherwise we are quite strict about it.

She's asleep by 8.30 ish (give or take an hour!) most nights. We start the bedtime routine about 45 minutes to an hour before she actually falls asleep. Most of that time is spent nursing and squirming in bed. She's 15 months.

Whenever he falls asleep. Not being snarky, but we don't have a bed time. DS is 4.5 -- we always just followed his lead. If he looks like he's melting, we try to start in the general direction of PJ's, teeth brushing, etc. Usually he just passes out on his own (laying in bed with DH and I, playing or reading with DH, laying next to me on the couch while I work on the computer, etc).

In the winter he tends to fall asleep earlier (darker earlier) summer get rather late as we are outside playing usually until 9pm or so.

Ds is 16 months and is *supposed* to go to bed between 7 & 8. Some nights it is right at 7 (no earlier or he won't sleep well). Other nights we barely make it by 8. It depends on the flow of our day. The last couple nights he went to bed around 9. He woke at his usual time and I didn't see any ill effects the next day, except that *I* was tired, lol.

DS1 is 5 yrs, DS2 is 6 months. Both are usually asleep between 7:15-7:45, we have a lovely, fairly relaxed bedtime routine that takes about an hour (bath, teeth, pjs, lots of stories, blessings, snuggles). I just realized that DS1 has always gone to sleep between 7 & 8...even as a baby. He is very consistent about wakeups, too...both boys are generally up between 5 & 5:30
(note: this is regardless of bedtime). DS1 no longer naps, but when he did his naps were very erratic. Ds2 is the same. Of course, DS1 stays up late on special occasions, when we have visitors, etc. He's still awake before 6:00am, 'tho grumpy about it.

Our 2.5 year old normally crashes between 9 - 10pm. We have tried moving it up- but even on days that we start bedtime routine at 7pm he doesn't fall asleep until that time.
