Ok I am not brand new to CD but............finally made the switch weeks ago. First it was mainly $$ issues...so I took my time and found awesome mama deals and worked my way to a great stash! Learned what I like and don't etc........we now CD all day long............

Here is our stash:
17 Fuzzibunz AIO
1 Daisy doodle AIO
6 Bumkins AIO
2 Honeyboy pocket diaper
2 smaller doublers hemp/fleece
6 terry/cotton doublers
6 Inserts for FB terry/fleece Joeys
13 prefolds (cotton)
6 Hemp prefolds
2 Kushies covers
2 Bumkins covers
1 Bummis SWW

But at night, I am still using a
: sposie.

Why you ask?

Well, I am very afraid of the 12 hours she'll be in it, and we've had rash issues before..nothing truly due to diapering BUT I still fear it........and every now and then when I do leave a dipe on more than 2 hours she tends to get a tad reddish..........now that could be anything. I use a flushable liner between her vaginal area and the diaper.

I have read to just double up the inserts and keep the FB/pocket dipe overnight. I've heard nothing beats wool. I tried wool and didn't like them. I don't have plain fitteds for them anyways.....I want to use what I have now.

I nearly did it tonight but, alas, got scared off. Not that the sposie makes me happy at all.............I figure worse case I'll buy the unbleached 7th Gen sposies if I cannot get her through the nights without a rash issue.

Anyone? I need advice and experiences.
Thanks!

I use either:
1. Happy Heiny solid (not prints!) a size larger than normal, stuffed with a wonder-fulls insert and a microfiber towel
2. Firefly sleeptight lined in fleece w/ wool cover
3. Hemp cuddlebuns lined in fleece (w/ fleece-topped doubler), 1 hemp wipe folded on the outside over his wet zone, and a stacinator so simple cover

I've tried so many combos! Fuzzi bunz work great during the day for DS but just don't fit right for all night long. He ends up with red marks on his legs when I super-stuff them. I think fleece-lined anything is key to making baby feel wet and keeping rashes away. I've bought a half yard of fleece (cheap remnant, like $2 or $3)and cut rough hourglass shapes to line my dipes with, that way you can use diaper cream too if you need to. Just launder your liners separately! Good luck! I love diapering at night much better than sposies now!

I second the HH. I stuff mine with 3 microfiber inserts. The fleece inside keeps the wet off baby and the micro is some very thristy stuff. Much luck to you and your nighttime struggle. It took forever to figure out what would work for Ari.

My dd has ultra sensitive skin and our normal night system is to use an organic velour fitted, a doubler and a premmie prefold laid out flat so there is no elastic touching her legs. We top this with an Aristocrat. No leaks ever!

When we use pockets we use both hemp and microfiber to stuff it. In the Fuzzi Bunz we were using two JB and a MOE insert. In the Swaddlebees we use two SB inserts (the one that comes w/the dipe) and a Daisy Doodles, microfiber insert

I tend to use wool now though. I just discovered Very Baby Simply Nights and I *love* them!! If you do decide to buy into something else, I'd highly recommend them. They're so soft and absorbant!!

Good luck.. it's definitely a process finding a nighttime system that works.

I use Ecobunz hemp fitteds with my super soaker girl. I just drop in a fleece topped doubler (pretty sure they still come free with the dipes). I find that they hold her better overnight then a fuzzi bunz with 3 joey bunz. My Ally is also prone to rashes if she sits too long in a wet dipe but this seems to work well for us.

Disclaimer: I was a tester - but I love these diapers! You might check Eric's site for seconds - I know sometimes he blows them out for close to cost....

Thank you mamas so much! Wealth of info here!

I will attempt the FB with the lush fleece/terry/ever soft Joey-type (I think as they came with FB order from a mama who used them, all in excellent new cond) two in there with maybe a hemp throw in and theFB.............I will watch for rash.........I may use a barrier cream as I use the disposable liners too to protect the dipes......

SIgh..........you just worry they'll feel wet............but today I had added a hemp one from last night to her Joey-type insert and her usual FB and DH said he was waiting and testing for wetness and there was none! LOL.......that fleece really keeps wet away.

Thank you again!
