We're planning a quick overnight in Duluth for the first week in may. Heading up the afternoon of the 6th after DS1 gets out of half day Pre-K, staying over and heading back to the TC the afternoon of the 7th. I figured we'd go to the harbor and show the kids the boats and walk around Canal park or whatever on the 6th, get a room at the Edgewater for the waterpark.

But Thursday I'm looking for something to do. I was thinking the kids would enjoy that boat/lock thing at the aquarium but then I priced it and cringed a bit (it was a lot cheaper when I went several years ago I swear). Any ideas for a 5.5 year old boy, 3.5 year old boy and 1.5 year old girl? Or anywhere I can get discount aquarium tickets?

TIA!

There is a great free museum in canal park. It probably won't hold their interest for too long, but it would be a good diversion for a little bit. http://www.lsmma.com

I don't know if there's any interest in trains in your family, but I think they have a pretty good train museum. http://www.lsrm.org

I love Duluth, used to take a couple weekend trips there every summer. Have a great time.

There is a great outdoor play area by the DECC - near Canal Park, on the waterfront. I also recommend The Radisson hotel for lunch - it is one of those revolving restaurants. It takes about an hour to go all the way around - but its a warm place to watch ships come on in and get a 360 degree view of the whole city. You should also hike up to Enger Tower...wear them out a little. Have fun in Duluth! I just moved here from Minneapolis a year ago and am still finding fun things to do with kids daily!
