Sorry this is not a related mothering question...does anyone in Georgia know a good place to go for a weekend getaway...I was looking for something in north Ga...been to Helen....somwhere with some shopping...but mostly local artists or independent stores...this is a birthday getaway...make a baby weekend...we won't be camping on this trip...thanx for the help

We like Dahlonega and the town square is really cute. Lots of antique and kitschy stores. DH and I went for a baby making night away and stayed at Forest Hills Resort. They have modern and traditional private cabins for a pretty reasonable price, with hottubs. Of course, in retrospect, the hot tub was probably not the best idea for a baby making adventure (wonder why it took 4 months after that trip to conceive....). They have onsite horseback riding and are 15-20 mins from Dahlonega and Amicalola Falls.
