I have been decluttering our video/dvd storage unit as it was severely overflowing.

I have about 100 blank videos that we have recorded films (from tv) onto. I have kept the handful that we are likely to watch again but still have nearly 100 videos to get rid of.

It feels wasteful to throw them in the trash but I can't send them to a thrift store either can I? Do you think I should freecycle them?

Also how do you store your dvd/video collection? Ours is on a huge bookcase (we have LOADS of videos/dvds) but the wall it is on I want to use for storing all my craft stuff. We don't have anywhere else to store them. If it was up to me we could easily half the collection - but most are DHs films or the kids Disney collection.

Thanks

We have all our discs in Binders. And we recycled the covers. We have more cd's then dvd's but the binders work well for both.

I would take the films you don't want anymore to a place that accepts donations. In the US its Goodwill and the like. Here it's a few church related organisations. Don't know what they have in the UK.

Or take them to the library. Ours rent out movies too.

Also, you can sell them on half.com or amazon.com.

We donated tons of videos to the library and now only buy a few dvd's. Dh downloads movies from the tv onto the computer to watch later (like tivo, sortof). We still have too many kid movies though!!
