What to eat for breakfast

503 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  mirpnmama
I don't know what to feed my ds for breakfast. After reading some other posts here about cereals and grains, I have stopped giving him those. ( My dh is happy about that since he never wanted me to give him them). But now I don't know what to feed him. He is still breastfed. Any help would be great.

He's 10 months old? I wouldn't worry so much about solids if he's still breastfed. If you want to try something, maybe some mashed fruit (banana, grated apple, avacado, etc.)
How about scrambled eggs--eggs are a really good first food (you can use a little water instead of milk to thin them). Also, babies don't know the difference between breakfast and any other meal, so you can feed him peas or whatever he'll eat...he won't care if it's "breakfast" food or not!

Just the yolk if your babe is under 1 year -- egg whites are a no-no until after 12 months.

Another good first food is sweet potato, thinned w/ a little breastmilk if you like.

I like what caedmyn said! I think we are so limited by what breakfast should be that its hard to branch out into healthier options -myself included!
